Archibald Haswell Miller's 1904 diary

1904 diary belonging to Archibald Haswell Miller. The diary was made by North British Mercantile Insurance Company, whose name is embossed in gold on the front, alongside the year, 1904. The diary has entries pertaining to Miller's appointments, a list of addresses and some sketches on the back pages. Inside the diary there are two newspaper clippings. One related to the suicide Erich Rom in Partick, a student from Berlin (inside pages 40-41), and another related to a match between Glasgow High School and Glasgow Academy (inside pages 54-55)

1905 diary belonging to Archibald Haswell Miller. The diary was made by North British Mercantile Insurance Company, whose name is embossed in gold on the front, alongside the year, 1905. The diary has entries pertaining to Miller's appointments, a list of addresses and some sketches on the back pages. On the first page Miller's address is listed as Mansfield Lodge, Partickhill. There are numerous little bits of paper tucked into the diary on different pages, including; three name cards and a subscription card for the Glasgow School of Art (pp. 56-57), a newspaper cut out from 03 Jul 1905 entitled 'A day with Glasgow Cadets at Barry' (pp. 82-83), and a Glasgow School of Art Club card, tucked into the back cover page.

On the first page Miller's address is listed as Mansfield Lodge, Minard Avenue, Partickhill. In between pages 126-127 there are some scraps of paper, two of which are tickets to theatre shows at the Playhouse and the Kings Theatre, another is a counterfoil for a postal order.

The diary has entries pertaining to Miller's appointments, a list of addresses and a list of theatre shows that year. On the first page Miller's address is listed as Mansfield Lodge, Minard Avenue, Partickhill. In between pages at the front of the diary there is a Glasgow School of Art Club card with Miller's name and address, it is dated 30 Nov 1906. Inside the diary there is also a woven or knitted patch, perhaps for mending clothing.

The diary has entries pertaining to Miller's appointments and a list of addresses at the back. On the first page Miller has listed two addresses, Turkenstrasse 57 III. H(?), Munchen, Bayern, and Mansfield Lodge, Minard Avenue, Partickhill, Glasgow, Scotland.

The diary contains some addresses written in Italian as well.

Elizabeth Marion Harvey's 1948 building technicians diary

Elizabeth M. Harvey's Building Technicians Diary from 1948, created by the Glasgow School of Architecture Club. The first half of the diary contains various general information, such as the standard measurements for various architectural structures and materials, a directory of professional bodies and a map of the UK. The second half of the diary is a standard diary format from January to December 1948. Some diary pages contain notes written by Harvey regarding appointments or tasks for her to complete, others have numbers which appear to be records of spending. The back of the diary has a list of telephone exchange numbers for various people, some drawings and sketches and some notes written by the author. In the back outer cover, a small cut of a newspaper ad for a job at Butlins has been tucked into the material.
