Advice note from John Baird Ltd., dated 30th June 1980, addressed to "A. Avella (staff), Stained Glass Dept., Haldene Building". Under "Description of Order", sandblasted glass and white acid are listed, but the white acid has been crossed out in pencil.

Sketch of window with rounded top, painted with yellow, blue, green and brown watercolour. Appears to be development sketch for Design B for Stairway Window. Design features circle in top right and clusters of small straight and curved lines creating a fragmented pattern. Parallel lines break the design into six sections. Annotations to the right of the design read "1 Building Jutting out. Beating in Design.. 2 Heavy colour out... 3 Low key Autumnal colours. 4 Can't be Totally indulgent and itself? 5 Quiet personality. BORDER". To the left of the design are two pencil sketches of rectangular forms with patterns of wavy parallel lines.

Russell, dated 7th June 1979, regarding a stained glass commission.

Cartoon for Scottish Police Federation heraldic window

To-scale full-colour design for the Glasgow Police Federation Heraldic window, featuring central crest flanked by two dogs, banners with Latin motto, and a Glasgow street scene in the background. A separate piece of paper with a line drawing in black chalk pastel has been affixed over the right-hand dog's head. In five places, other pieces of paper have been glued down with corrections drawn on them.

Design for Thomas Downie memorial windows

A full-colour design for two narrow arched windows with botanical motifs, possibly abstracted foliage, rendered in shades of green and blue. Each window has a striped border of alternating blue and yellow. At the base of each window is an unpainted section containing pencil text, the left reading "In Loving Memory, 1891" and the right reading "Of Thomas Downie, 1971". The year of death is believed to be a mistake, as the window eventually installed in Killearn Kirk lists the year as 1970. Horizontal lines are marked at intervals beside the windows.

Each window has a striped border of alternating light and dark blue. At the base of each window is an blank section painted light grey. Appears to be a design for the Thomas Downie memorial windows in Killearn Kirk, which dates the item to after Downie's death in 1970.

A full-colour design for two narrow arched windows with abstract designs composed of geometric forms heavily featuring curved lines and right angles. The left-hand window is rendered in shades of blue on a grey background, the right-hand window in shades of red on a grey background. Underneaththw windows are pencil annotations reading 'Blue' and 'Red', respectively. At the base of each window is an unpainted section containing pencil text, the left reading "In Loving Memory, 1891-" and the right reading "Of Thomas Downie, -1970".

Design for windows with interlocking lines

Two pieces of cardboard secured together so they can be opened to display two full-colour drawings of arched windows. Each piece of cardboard has had the window shape cut out and the drawings have been taped into the cutouts from the outside. The window designs feature groups of lines, coloured in groups of two to five, which meet in the centre at interlocking right angles. The designs of the windows are mirrored. The left-hand window is annotated as 'East'. The object is numbered 32 on the rear exterior.

Two pieces of cardboard secured together so they can be opened to display two full-colour drawings of arched windows. Each piece of cardboard has had the window shape cut out and the drawings have been taped into the cutouts from the outside. The window designs are made up of vertical columns of coloured right-angled triangles creating a rainbow effect. The designs of the windows are mirrored. The left-hand window is annotated as 'East' and the right as 'West'. The object is numbered 36 on the rear exterior.

Full-colour development drawings and notes for a commission for the Transport Museum. On the left side of the page is an arched window with diamond leading and a roundel design of an abstracted ship. In the centre of the page are four roundel designs; the top left is a larger version of the one featured on the window, the top right and bottom left designs feature mechanical motifs, and the bottom right design is of a ship shown in profile and labelled 'COMET 1812'. On the right side of the page are three full-colour nautical signal flags labelled 'PYU - Good Voyage', a bell with rope pull and a close-up drawing of a rope unravelling. In the bottom left corner of the page is a sketch of a rectangle with diagonal lines along the bottom and four indistinct shapes above them. Annotations relating to measurements at the top and bottom of the page. Annotation below the four roundel designs reads 'Mural of Comet - Transport Museum - Albert Drive'.
