Exhibition
Pioneers of Post War Pattern
A collaborative project between GSA Archives and Collections, Fashion & Textiles and the Centre for Advanced Textiles (CAT)
16 SEP 2017 – 08 OCT 2017
Designs by three GSA alumnae were re-visited by the Centre for Advanced Textiles (CAT) and developed into products: tea towels, cushions and wall-hangings.
The products were sold throughout an exhibition in GSA’s Reid Building Ground Floor Corridor, and afterwards directly from CAT, and via a pop-up exhibition in Harvey Nichols in Edinburgh in August 2018.
The exhibition also linked with celebrations for Lucienne Day’s (1917-2010) centenary as CAT also produced the world’s only licensed digital reprints of this designer’s iconic 1950s/1960s furnishing fabrics.
