The exact date and location of the 1982 fashion show are unknown.  Other shows held around this time were however held in the spring, and in the Assembly building or in the Assembly Hall of the Bourdon Building. The film comprises footage of students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include rainbow, futuristic, Oriental, Egyptian, ballgowns, stripes, geometry, hats, formal, off-the-shoulder, utility wear, white, accessories, metallic, fantasy, swimwear. The show also features an extravagant period ballgown, designed by Kenny McLellan, which was subsequently shown at the “Young Blood” exhibition at the Barbican Centre in London, in November 1983 to January 1984. The set for the show consisted of a pale, self-coloured fabric backdrop. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. The 1984 Fashion Show was held in the Assembly Building from 30th April to 5th May 1984. The film comprises images of the fashion show poster, followed by footage of the audience arriving at the venue and students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include music, pastels, metallic, rainbow, wedding, hats, white, bright colours, jewellery, off-the-shoulder, flamenco. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: Embroidery and Weaving; and Printed Textiles. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. The set for the show consisted of large musical notes and staves, plus piano keyboards. It was designed and built by Minty Donald and Jean Cameron. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: Embroidery and Weaving; Fine Art; Sculpture; and Printed Textiles. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. The set for the show consisted of a black background with white symbols. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. The 1986 Fashion Show was held in the Assembly Hall from 10th to 15th March 1986. The film comprises footage of students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include Egyptian, metallic, wedding, Queen of Hearts, cloaks, formalwear, masks, hats, bright colours, geometry, flamboyant, utility wear. There is also a dress made from Benson and Hedges cigarette packets – the model wearing this dress is smoking on stage. There were also a number of Harris Tweed garments in the show as Harris Tweed ran a design competition that year. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: Embroidery and Weaving; Silversmithing and Jewellery; and Printed Textiles. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. It is believed that this show had a mix of professional models and students. The models were less experienced models from agencies. The set for the show consisted of a garage workshop setting with car and motor parts at the rear and sides of the stage. It was designed by the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. The hair for this show was by Taylor Ferguson. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. The 1978 Fashion Show was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre from the 24th to 28th April 1978. The film comprises a combination of still images and film footage of students preparing for the show behind the scenes, and modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments. Styles and themes include metallic fabrics, sportswear, bodysuits and off-the-shoulder dresses. Children’s clothes were also modelled in the show although these are not shown in the film. Garments were designed and modelled mostly by students or former students. Indigo Designs also designed evening dresses for the show. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: 1st year; Embroidery and Weaving; Textiles; and Graphics. Hair was by the Hely Design Group and shoes were from Ravel. The set for the show consisted of a pale, self-coloured ruched fabric backdrop. This poster advertised various events happening during The Glasgow School Of Art's activities week in 1971. The poster details a number of film screenings and talks which took place in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre. Other events included visits to the National Engineering Laboratory in East Kilbride and to an exhibition of prints by the London based printmaking organisation Editions Alecto. There was also an exhibition of work by John McInnes which was held in the Mackintosh Museum.

Poster advertising Honours Degree Courses in Art and Design, Architecture and Planning at The Glasgow School of Art.

This poster advertised the masters course in design offered by The Glasgow School of Art in the mid 1980s. The poster details the objectives and benefits of studying for a postgraduate qualification at The Glasgow School Of Art, including the multidisciplinary opportunities available, the different course options, the Mackintosh legacy and the Glasgow style. The design of the poster suggests it could also have been used as a promotional leaflet. This particular copy has an Irn Bru sticker attached to it that dates back to the 1980s.

This poster advertised an exhibition marking the centenary of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's birth. The show itself was held in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London and was open to the public from the 30th of October to 5th of December 1968. The exhibition was sponsored by the Edinburgh Festival Society and arranged by the Scottish Arts Council.

This poster is for a Charles Rennie Mackintosh exhibition at the Glasgow School of Art, which ran from 1st July to 30 September 1988. The poster has a black and white design with orange font. It uses a geometric pattern which mimicks a Charles Rennie Mackintosh chair design.

In 1988, a Mackintosh architecture exhibition opened in Certaldo in Tuscany, Italy. It was organised by Comune di Certaldo in Palazzo Vicariale di Certaldo from 31st July to 30th September. A book was published by Electa Firenze about the exhibition including images of architectural drawings, photographs, sketches and paintings. This image is of a blue, beige, and black coloured architectural drawing.

In 1988, a Mackintosh architecture exhibition opened in Certaldo in Tuscany, Italy. It was organised by Comune di Certaldo in Palazzo Vicariale di Certaldo from 31st July to 30th September. This poster showing an image of a Mackintosh chair advertised an exhibition of the work of Charles Rennie Mackintosh at the Museum of Applied Arts in Helsinki from 10th December 1982 to 16th January 1983.

This Japanese poster advertised a Charles Rennie Mackintosh exhibition. It was designed by graphic designer Ikko Tanaka in 1979 for Gurafiku: Japanese Graphic Design. The poster uses a pink and navy font on a white background, with an image of a Mackintosh chair.

This poster features white images of twenty chairs with grey text to advertise an exhibition held in Jugendstilsenteret, Ålesund, Norway, from 6th June to the 12th Oct 2003. The exhibition of twenty Mackintosh chairs from the Glasgow School of Art's collection formed part of the opening celebrations at Norway’s newest cultural attraction, the Jugenstilsenteret (Art Nouveau Centre), in Ålesund. Similar to Glasgow, this city is one of the founding partners of the EU-funded Réseau Art Nouveau Network. The School’s contribution was hoped to inspire further cultural and artistic ties between the two countries.

This poster advertised an exhibition showcasing the work of Scottish artist, architect and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Held in the Miezsznorodowego Cultural Centre in Krakow, Poland, the exhibition ran from the 18th of September to 31st of October 1996 and was arranged by the British Council of Poland, with sponsorship from the Polish Airlines Cargo.

This poster advertised an exhibition of work done by students on the graphic design course at The Glasgow School Of Art. The exhibition ran from the 13th to the 19th of June. The illustration for the poster was done by Karen Watt whose work featured in this exhibition. A number of students and staff associated with the graphic design department at The Glasgow School Of Art are featured in her illustration. Karen stands in the centre of the poster eating an ice cream. Mary Asiedu can be seen central left sitting in a chair speaking to Brian Cairns. Head of department Mike Healey is measuring the typography in the sand and Tony Jones who was the director of The Glasgow School Of Art at this time is represented in the sun.

The poster advertised an exhibition of work by the Scottish architect, artist and designer Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The show was held in the German town of Darmstadt, known for its Art Nouveau architecture and design. The show was held in the Hesse State Museum and was open from the 27th of February to 4th of May 1969. The poster is a graphic design by Fritz Fischer.

This poster advertised an exhibition of photography held in the Victoria Cafe from the 9th to the 20th of October 1978. Exhibiting in this show were a number of artists including: Elizabeth Urquhart, Ray McKenzie, Douglas Bryce, Chris Webster, Denis Crossan and Jack Fordy. The Victoria Cafe, where the show was held, was part of the original student union across from the Mackintosh building on GSA campus. The name "Douglas R. Bryce Graphics '78" is handwritten on the back of the poster.

This poster advertised an exhibition showcasing work by graduating postgraduate fine art students from The Glasgow School Of Art in 1990. The exhibition took place between the 23rd and the 29th of June and was held in the Mackintosh Building. It included work by Alexander Dempster, James Hamlyn, Rachael Harris, Peter McCaughey, Donna Rae, Craig Richardson, Julie Roberts, Andrew Sneddon, Edward Stewart and Catherine Whippey. The photograph on the poster was taken by John Shankie and shows the exhibiting students posing inside the elevator in the Mackintosh Building. The poster was designed at The Glasgow School Of Art and printed by David J. Clark Limited.

This poster advertised the work of printmaking graduates in one of The Glasgow School Of Art's degree shows which took place in The Glasgow School Of Art's Mackintosh Building.

This poster advertised a retrospective exhibition of work by Bob Stewart which ran between the 4th and the 31st of October 1980 at The University Of Strathclyde. Stewart is a leading figure in The Glasgow School Of Art's history. His role progressed from lecturing in textiles to Head of Design before he became Deputy Director of the school. He was highly regarded by staff and students and also designed and printed many of the posters in The Glasgow School Of Art's poster collection.

This poster promoted an exhibition held in the Newbery Gallery on The Glasgow School of Art's campus from the 12th April to the 4th May 1990. The exhibition showcased the embroidery work of Hannah Frew Paterson who taught embroidery at GSA. Poster for Adrian Wiszniewski Exhibition, Glasgow Print Studio, Glasgow, 03 May 1988-28 May 1988. The exhibition was held as part of Mayfest.

This poster depicts a portrait of the artist with pink and blue fonts on a white background. It advertises a touring exhibition of the work of Jessie M. King, who is known for her book illustrations and paintings which are very much associated with the Glasgow Style. Known as one of the Glasgow Girls, the exhibition of King's work in 1979 marked the 20th anniversary of her death and was first shown at the Tolbooth Art Centre on Hill Street, Kirkcudbright from 4th June to 18th July. Later that same year, the exhibition was held at the Glasgow School of Art's Mackintosh Building from 27th July to 3rd September. The exhibition itself was sponsored by the Robertson Trust, The N.S. Macfarlane Trust and the Glasgow School of Art Enterprises.
