This photograph depicts a street scene in Townhead, Glasgow, c1950s. The remaining photographs depict various street scenes in Glasgow from 1948-1980s, most of which have been annotated. The earliest photograph dates from 1948 and depicts traction engines pulling North British Loco. Co. engine along Sauchiehall Street en route for the docks. Other scenes include: the construction of the M8, Gorbals, Queen Street Station and trace horses on West Nile Street c1948.

This travel report was produced by John Grant MacDonald when he won the Minor Traveling Scholarship in 1955. Minor travelling bursaries of £20 were presented to several students per year at this time. John Grant MacDonald attended The Glasgow School of Art between 1952 and 1959 and studied architecture. The report details MacDonald's journey beginning in Paris and travelling North to Le Harve and ending his trip in London. The report reads like a diary, documenting MacDonald's journey in an imaculate handwritten format. There are also photographs included throughout, featuring various buildings in Paris, Rouen, L'Havre and London. The report is bound in blue, white and red paper, suggesting the French flag.

Hugh Ferguson graduated from Glasgow School of Art/Architecture in 1955. His collection of papers includes a notebook of 'Descriptive Geometry' from The Royal Technical College containing notes and detailed mathematical drawings.
Ferguson received the Alexander Thompson Travelling Scholarship in 1964 and another notebook/sketchbook documents his travels over one month in Greece - from 15th of August to 5th September 1964. Two weeks were spent resident in Athens and two weeks travelling; he visited many sites including Delphi, Eleusis, Daphni, Ossios Loukas, Brauron, Mycanae, Tiryns, Pylos, Epidauros, Olympia and Corinth. Detailed notes are given on the work going on at these sites, accompanied by around 33 photographs of ongoing architectural work.
Loose papers include information on the life and works of Alexander Thompson as well as a draft of the text for the final bound travel notebook.
Please note that this material is not yet fully catalogued and therefore some items may not be accessible to researchers.
