The collection consists of printed textiles, garments and papers relating to Fraser Taylor's time as an undergraduate student at GSA (1978-1981), a postgraduate student at RCA (1983), and items relating to other professional activities. It also includes examples of textiles and associated ephemera for design collective The Cloth (1983-1987).

Teaching aids include collections of prints, photographs, and calligraphy examples.

The archive of The Glasgow 1999 Festival Co Ltd contains many of the publications, correspondence, press releases, press cuttings and the working papers that were produced by the company in the run-up to and during the year-long celebration. Papers relating to the evaluation of the project are also included. Items not directly related to the working office of the festival company have also been kept, for instance, examples of the merchandise and associated publicity. A record was also made of many of the events and publicity surrounding the year; video and audio recordings of the lectures and photographs of successful projects and schemes.

The publications of the Needlework Development Scheme were central to its aims. The two bulletins, "And So to Sew" and "And So to Embroider" published three times a year, were issued free until 1958 until demand led to a charge being levied for orders of over 24 copies. At its height in the 1950s, the scheme spent the current equivalent (2003) of £1 million printing the bulletin and distributing it primarily to school girls as well as other interested parties. Other publications featured accounts of the Scheme's development along with images of selected needleworks or focused on particular themes within the collection, such as Swedish needlework.

Includes one folded sheet of paper with 24 sections of Project Ability's activities including upcoming three week long exhibitions and events in October 1983 (DC 101/3/3), theatre productions, conferences, bookshop, community workshops, music lessons and concerts, poetry night, art therapy support, film productions, ceilidh, talks, exhibition descriptions, acknowledgements, box office information, the people behind Project Ability, their hours, and location.

Includes a single piece of paper folded twice to make a three page brochure with black and white images. Includes information on what Project Ability is, their aims, how people can support Project Ability, contact details, and the Scottish Committee for Arts and Disability.
