Material related to the summer project, second year studying the design of a coach house at 47 Eldon Street, Greenock. It includes survey notes, photos taken by the architect, architectural detail drawings and copies. Present owners at the time of creation this series is Argyll & Clyde Health Board.

12 cartridge paper sheets including free hand sketches of the coach house ground floor plan, upper floor plan, section CC, section BB, section AA, N.W elevation, N.E elevation, S.W elevation, S.E elevation, and several architectural details including gate, window, and cast iron fireplace. Although these drawings are all free hand sketches, they also include details of the entire building's dimensions and materials used indoors and outdoors.

Material created during Christopher Platt's third year of studies including part time projects relating to architectural design, details and analysis.

Material related to studying examples of living with the river such as a lake dwellings from Japan, Kohama 6000 B.C describing the strategic reasons behind the design of such community dwellings. All the drawings are freehand sketches on tracing paper showing the site plans from an iron age village addressing the way to reach these dwellings from mainland by canoes. Another example of living with the river is the pile dwellings or the Saigon Shacks where they built on piles raised above the water because there is not enough room on the mainland for more houses.

Third Year Part Time material, featuring two projects.

Material related to studying cars. The architect chose the Hillman Hunter 1977 to study the existing model, its plans, elevations and sections in scale 1:20. All drawings are freehand sketches on greaseproof paper. The aim was to analyse the manufacturing design and how the recent model had been developed to create more comfortable space and improve car shell and body elements like dashboard, steering wheel, and storage. The drawing sheet has been folded vertically.

Material related to studying the work of Richard Meier including architectural drawings of some of his public projects all on greaseproof paper using Rotring drawing ink pens, like: Fredonia P.E. building 1968, Twin Parks N.E. housing 1969, Olivetti Dormitory 1971, Cornell University undergraduate housing 1974, Bronx Development Centre 1970, and Monroe Development Centre 1969. The drawings include site plans, floor plans, elevations, and several enlarged sections showing the use of new building materials such as porcelain-enamelled metal cladding panels and explaining the main design criteria.

Material related to studying the work of Richard Meier including architectural drawings of some of his private projects as well as written information about his career and firms he worked with. All on greaseproof paper using Rotring drawing ink pens. In the written information, Platt studied Richard Meier's career related to the firms he worked with, such as:

• American monumental tradition: Mies Van Der Rohe, Philip Johnson, Eero Saarinen, and Skidmore and their relations to Le Corbusier
• Walter Gropius and other architects from the post war generation
• The New York Five: Peter Eisenman, Michael Graves, John Hejduk, and Gwathmey & Siegel.

The aim of this study is to address the priorities taken from Le Corbusier's private buildings: clarity & expression of structure, vertical circulation as a major design element, use of double height living spaces, and natural influence.
Then, the architect moved to study some examples from Richard Meier's houses, like: Smith house, Saltzman house, and Shamberg house. The architect aimed to address the priorities used in all houses, for example: definition of public and private spaces, open space revealed by entry through closed space, and many other issues.

The aim of this activity is to show that the student learned how to make use of the furniture and fitments available on the market at the time of designing the apartment project.

Architectural drawing on tracing paper using Rotring black ink pen representing the final design of the south elevation and the north elevation in scale 1:100. The architect used a technique to render this elevation, mainly walls with horizonal lines leaving the window glasses as plain transparent areas. He also used Zip-A-Tone for window shadings. The same technique has been used to make the trees transparent figures to show the architectural elements behind them. The design of both elevation is based on the idea of solid and transparent between ground floor and upper floor giving the sense of lifting the upper floor by the cylinder columns, while the central glass dome appears to be the focal point.
The long section (scale 1:100) shows the structural system and constructional elements supporting the different indoor spaces and the variety of shapes relating to the functions of those spaces. The architect used figures to show the scale of the school building in relationship to people.

This large rolled sheet also includes a hinged elevational projection in scale 1:100, which is drawn as a panorama presenting the new building elevation and its position in the point of the existing buildings on Clyde Street and Bridgegate Street. It shows the contrast between the design traditional style of the existing building with their rich architectural details against the modern style design of the new building.

It consists of two sheets, a large rolled sheet, and a small rolled one. Greaseproof sheet has been used due to its cheap cost, stated by the architect.

This large rolled sheet consists of the architectural drawing of the building's ground floor plan in scale 1:100 showing its main functional spaces. It also consists of an enlarged part of the ground floor taken from the front side of the building with its upper floor plan, both in scale 1:50. This sheet also includes a sectional perspective in scale 1:20 taken from cash desk booking focal point looking towards its both sides to upstairs floor. This drawing consists of several human figures with humourous comments to give a sense of the real life of this social space. The rolled sheet also includes a coloured drawing of the front façade in scale 1:20, where the architect coloured this drawing from the back of the sheet.

Material related to the design of a boathouse in the manner of Charles Moore, including architectural drawings of the existing boathouse as well as the converted one.

The upper floor plan includes the indoor spaces (some are in double volume like the viewing space), vertical circulation, and other services. It also shows the main structural elements: cylinder columns, and load bearing walls. The upper floor comes with the full details of the indoor spaces with their furniture and the outdoor spaces and their relationships with the exterior elevations. Here, the architect names these spaces according to the pupils ages: 3-8 years, 8-12 years, 12-15 years, and 15-16 years. This floor walls are designed as semi-circular, both the exterior and the interior walls.

The drawing is in scale 1:500 and shows the location for the building which is at Glasgow City Centre near Victoria Bridge, facing the Clyde River bank. This drawing analyses the mains roads and streets surroundings the site, pedestrian traffic to and from Glasgow Green focusing on the corner of the site to make used of the nice views from site, and the relationship of the building to the existing facades and its connection with the river view. It also indicates the North sign and addresses the prevailing winds from south west for the best environmental natural elements.
