This poster advertises an exhibition of work done by the Jewellery and Silversmithing department at The Glasgow School of Art. The exhibition was held in the Aaron Faber Gallery in New York City and ran from the 8th of September to the 1st of October 1994. It was organised with the help of the Taffners, a family based in New York who donated money to The Glasgow School Of Art for a number of years.

This poster advertised an exhibition of paintings by Jock MacInnes, a graduate of The Glasgow School Of Art. The exhibition was held in the Mackintosh Museum in The Glasgow School of Art's Mackintosh Building from the 27th of October to the 7th of November 1975.

This poster advertised The Glasgow School Of Art Master of Design degree show in 1985. The exhibition ran from the 7th to the 13th of December and was held in the Mackintosh Building on The Glasgow School Of Art campus. The poster details a number of film screenings and talks which took place in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre. There was also an exhibition of work by John McInnes which was held in the Mackintosh Museum.

This poster advertised an exhibition showcasing work made by seven international architects who were asked to produce work inspired by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. The poster conveys how "seven of the world's leading architects have made installations in the Glasgow School of Art. They are personal homages to Charles Rennie Mackintosh and a mark of his international significance today." The poster was designed by Blue Peach, Glasgow. A collection of photographs and negatives taken by George Oliver dating from 1948-1990 (apart from two dated c1897). George arranged his photographs into folders by approximate subject matter and gave each folder a title. This has been reflected in the catalogue with the folder titles in the catalogue being the exact titles George used. The folders have been arranged by subject matter where possible. There are exceptions to the above. Folders DC 066/2/20 and DC 066/2/86 have not been given a title by George and have been catalogued as 'Untitled'. There are exceptions to this with DC 066/2/78 containing photographs taken by Cordelia Oliver as they date from after George's death. As a result of the Mackintosh Building fire in 2014, folders DC 066/2/87, DC 066/2/88 and DC 066/2/89 contain photographs that have been rehoused since their deposit and are likely to have been taken out of other folders. It is not clear from which folders these photographs came originally, so they have been catalogued separately with their titles reflecting the subject matter of the photographs they contain.

The 1978 Fashion Show was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre from the 24th to 28th April 1978. The film comprises a combination of still images and film footage of students preparing for the show behind the scenes, and modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments. Styles and themes include metallic fabrics, sportswear, bodysuits and off-the-shoulder dresses. Children’s clothes were also modelled in the show although these are not shown in the film. Garments were designed and modelled mostly by students or former students. Indigo Designs also designed evening dresses for the show. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: 1st year; Embroidery and Weaving; Textiles; and Graphics. Hair was by the Hely Design Group and shoes were from Ravel. The set for the show consisted of a pale, self-coloured ruched fabric backdrop. The exact date and location of the 1982 fashion show are unknown.  Other shows held around this time were however held in the spring, and in the Assembly building or in the Assembly Hall of the Bourdon Building. The film comprises footage of students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include rainbow, futuristic, Oriental, Egyptian, ballgowns, stripes, geometry, hats, formal, off-the-shoulder, utility wear, white, accessories, metallic, fantasy, swimwear. The show also features an extravagant period ballgown, designed by Kenny McLellan, which was subsequently shown at the “Young Blood” exhibition at the Barbican Centre in London, in November 1983 to January 1984. The set for the show consisted of a pale, self-coloured fabric backdrop. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. The 1984 Fashion Show was held in the Assembly Building from 30th April to 5th May 1984. The film comprises images of the fashion show poster, followed by footage of the audience arriving at the venue and students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include music, pastels, metallic, rainbow, wedding, hats, white, bright colours, jewellery, off-the-shoulder, flamenco. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: Embroidery and Weaving; and Printed Textiles. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. The set for the show consisted of large musical notes and staves, plus piano keyboards. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include African, Oriental, Egyptian, hats, bright colours, white, geometry, metallic, sleeves, fruit, accessories, Greek, graphics. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: Embroidery and Weaving; Fine Art; Sculpture; and Printed Textiles. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. The set for the show consisted of a black background with white symbols. The 1986 Fashion Show was held in the Assembly Hall from 10th to 15th March 1986. The film comprises footage of students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include Egyptian, metallic, wedding, Queen of Hearts, cloaks, formalwear, masks, hats, bright colours, geometry, flamboyant, utility wear. There is also a dress made from Benson and Hedges cigarette packets – the model wearing this dress is smoking on stage. There were also a number of Harris Tweed garments in the show as Harris Tweed ran a design competition that year. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: Embroidery and Weaving; Silversmithing and Jewellery; and Printed Textiles. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. It is believed that this show had a mix of professional models and students. The models were less experienced models from agencies. The set for the show consisted of a garage workshop setting with car and motor parts at the rear and sides of the stage. It was designed by the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. The hair for this show was by Taylor Ferguson. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. This poster advertised an exhibition of photography held in the Victoria Cafe from the 9th to the 20th of October 1978. Exhibiting in this show were a number of artists including: Elizabeth Urquhart, Ray McKenzie, Douglas Bryce, Chris Webster, Denis Crossan and Jack Fordy. The Victoria Cafe, where the show was held, was part of the original student union across from the Mackintosh building on GSA campus. The name "Douglas R. Bryce Graphics '78" is handwritten on the back of the poster.

This poster promoted an exhibition in London showcasing embroidery and weaving work from The Glasgow School of Art. The exhibition was held in the Embroiders Guild on 73 Wimpole Street London, with a private view "tea party" for the event held on Sunday the 4th November 1979. The exhibition itself was open from the 5th to the 29th of November 1979.

This poster advertised an exhibition that was to be the first of a number of annual exhibitions showcasing the work of students from the School Of Fine Art. The exhibition was held in The Mackintosh Museum and ran from the 30th of January to the 7th of February 1987. The poster was designed by John Shankie who would later become a technician for the masters of fine art course. There are two copies of this poster in the collection, both with the same reference number.

This poster advertised two exhibitions happening coherently at The Glasgow School Of Art in early 1977. The main feature was an exhibition of work by John O'Connor which was held in the Mackintosh Museum and featured pieces in a variety of mediums including drawing, painting, wood-engraving, graphics and illustration. O'Connor spent a brief period lecturing at The Glasgow School Of Art in the graphic design department from 1978 to 1979. The second exhibition was entitled 'The National Book League Exhibition Of Book Design and Production' and was held in the Mackintosh Library. A duplicate of this poster can be found under reference number GSAA/EPH/10/193.

This poster advertised an exhibition showcasing the work of The Glasgow Girls held in The Mackintosh Museum at The Glasgow School Of Art. The exhibition ran from the 15th of July to the 31st of August 1988 and was the precursor for a larger Glasgow Girls exhibition that would be shown two years later. This particular exhibition was curated by Jude Burkhauser who went on to write a full PhD on The Glasgow Girls.

The poster was designed by The Small Back Room and was printed by APT Photoset Limited using an offset printing press.

This poster, designed by Pat MacKenzie, advertised an exhibition of embroidery examples from 1894 to 1920. The exhibition was held between The Glasgow School Of Art's Mackintosh Museum and Kelvingrove Museum from the 6th of June to the 17th of August 1980. The image used on the front of the poster is an embroidery piece by Ann Macbeth who became the head of needlework and embroidery at The Glasgow School of Art in 1909, and is heavily associated with the "Glasgow Style".

The image on the poster is a photograph taken by previous lecturer Vaughan Judge and shows the exhibiting students sitting on the steps of the Mackintosh Building. A key naming most of the students can be found alongside the poster under the same reference number. The list was compiled with the help of Eddie Stewart who was a former student at The Glasgow School Of Art who then became a tutor in painting and printmaking. Stewart graduated with an undergraduate degree in drawing and painting in 1988 and is included in the photograph on this poster. He then went on to do a Masters in 1990. The poster was designed by The Glasgow School Of Art and printed at David J Clark Limited. The exhibition took place as a result of the connections between Cassina Design in Italy and The Glasgow School Of Art. The poster was designed by Gordon Huntly who was the head of graphic design at The Glasgow School Of Art at that time. It was printed in the Foulis Building on an offset lithography printing press. The information on the poster translates as: "Design from Glasgow School Of Art: Cassina in Milan, March 23rd to April 6th. Ceramics. Embroidery and fabrics. Design for furniture, furnishings and industrial products. Jewellery and Silverware. Art Graphics, Illustration. Printed Fabrics".
