Conrad McKenna’s teaching materials, San Gimignano correspondence and Glasgow School of Art memoranda, including typed materials, hand written notes, photocopies, worksheets, newspaper clippings, annotated diagrams and drawings, floor plans and printed ephemera by Conrad McKenna and others.

The cuttings include bound and loose cuttings relating to the School, 1864 to date; cuttings relating to staff and pupils, 1968 to date; collected biographies, 1974 to date; cuttings relating to artistic groups and events in Glasgow, 1968 to date.

The prospectuses include lists of governors and staff, a brief history of the School, plans of the School, information on the organisation and administration of the School, the enrolment of students, courses, classes, lectures, fees, examinations, scholarships and bursaries, prizes, School clubs and lists of results, occupations of students and appointments.

The prospectuses frequently outline courses offered by GSA for the year, and so would have likely been published prior to this date so that prospective students could view relevant information and apply for the courses in advance.

The run is incomplete (missing years are: 1894-95, 1895-96, 1896-97, 1897-98, 1898-99, 1899-1900, 1901-02, 1903-04, 1991-1994, 2012-2013). Also includes a white dress made by Winning and worn on a model in a photograph that accompanies an advertisement design, as well as an award-winning logo design for Mavor and Coulson.

A number of the GSA fashion shows were filmed and some of these films are held by GSA Archives and Collections, namely the films for 1978, 1982, 1984, 1985 and 1986. These show models on the stage plus in some cases backstage footage and/or stills, and the audience arriving at the venue. For four of the films held by GSA Archives and Collections, the soundtracks have been incorporated at the editing stage and reflect the songs played at the show.

Works completed as part of the Interior Design course at Glasgow School of Art, including designs for a flat for Henry Helier; a flat renovation; a house for a Mr and Mrs McCracken in Ayrshire, and a perspex chess set.

By the time the Needlework in Scotland scheme was disbanded due to the war in 1939, the scheme had amassed a collection of some 900 items. In 1945, when the scheme was resurrected at the Needlework Development Scheme it continued to acquire textiles having over 5000 pieces by 1961 when the scheme was finally dissolved. Many of these were available as loan collections to schools and colleges.

Sample books containing Jacquard loom woven furniture fabrics woven by N & N Lockhart & Sons Ltd for Donald Brothers Ltd, Dundee.Most sample books contain a number of different furnishing fabric samples, often with a particular design being repeated in a number of colour versions (colour ways).The numbers that precede the descriptions are the fabric numbers given on the front of each sample book.

These notebooks record the jacquard fabrics and patterns woven on a particular day. Each entry records the cloth woven with its dimensions, reference numbers of the patterns and colours used, weights of thread and cost. The inside and inside back covers give the reference numbers and names of the dye colours available.

This series contains lantern slides showing images used at The Glasgow School of Art for a wide range of teaching purposes, including European and Asian art history, costumes, ethnography, anatomy, animals, lettering and illumination, typography and architecture. The lantern slides are in the format of an English lantern slide (82 x 82 mm and 85 x 100 mm). The series also contains glass plate negatives showing images of Glasgow School of Art student work, predominantly architecture and sculpture. However there are also negatives showing stage costumes, leatherwork, textiles design, ceramics and silversmithing. This series also contains a small amount of private photographs of staff and students as well as images of GSA's Mackintosh Building. The negatives are in various formats, most of them are an English Non Standard (Half Plate 122 x 167 mm) and a Daguerreotype Traditional (Quarter Plate, 84 x110 mm). A considerable amount of the glass plate negatives contain images for teaching purposes, mainly reproductions from GSA library books ("Fragments Antiques", "A History of Greek Art", "A History of Art in Ancient Egypt"). Their size is an Daguerreotype Traditional (Quarter Plate, 84 x110 mm). This series includes one item by Jessie Wilson, another student of The Glasgow School of Art, with whom Mary Ramsay and Margaret Macdonald started a pottery decorating business at The Studio, Strathyre, in 1926.
