The upper (shelved) section and 2 lower drawer units remain. Designed for Ladies Common Room at Glasgow School of Art. Mackintosh's version of a traditional dresser/bookcase, making extensive use of the scalloped edging used at the Oak Room in 1907 and at the Glasgow School of Art Library 1907. (Roger Billcliffe).

Designed for Director's Room, Glasgow School of Art. 'This large table may well have been designed for meetings of the Board of Governors, who rarely used the original Board Room which was eventually taken over as a studio. It was designed with two high backed armchairs and twelve low backed armchairs and was photographed in 1910 in the new Board Room which Mackintosh had provided for the Governors, and not in the Director's Room for which it was designed. The square is again the dominant motif in this group of designs. The table legs are square, but they are hollow, and square cut outs in them indicate the construction.' (Roger Billcliffe). Twelve chairs were made in 1904 for the GSA, but William Davidson acquired a further two, with six of MC/F/58 for use as dining chairs in the hall at Windyhill. Twelve chairs reupholstered in brown horsehair 1984. One chair on loan from Glasgow University, returned 1984. Trade cabinet designed to hold various wood samples. Made for William Douglas, a decorator and friend of Mackintosh who worked on several of his commissions, especially Hous'hill. Reputedly designed by Mackintosh but some of the detailing suggests he did not closely supervise the execution. Each drawer holds samples of different woods, stains, paints and finishes. This item was assessed for conservation in 2010 as part of the Mackintosh Conservation and Access Project (2006-2010).

Designed for the board room, Glasgow School of Art. Basically, a compilation of three examples of MC/F/18 with the pierced motif repeated three times on each back rest. Small wooden stool in arts and crafts style, with cut out motif in the style of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. At one time there were many examples in use within The Glasgow School of Art, but very few remain.

Poster features a grey Mackintosh portrait focusing on his moustache, grey and orange in colour. Also features line drawings of Mackintosh chairs. The exhibition of twenty Mackintosh chairs from the Glasgow School of Art's collection formed part of the opening celebrations at Norway’s newest cultural attraction, the Jugenstilsenteret (Art Nouveau Centre), in Ålesund, from the 6th June to 12th Oct 2003. Similar to Glasgow, this city is one of the founding partners of the EU-funded Réseau Art Nouveau Network. The School’s contribution was hoped to inspire further cultural and artistic ties between the two countries.

Following the fire in the Mackintosh Building in May 2014 it was assessed and conserved in 2019.

This master clock was provided by the Glasgow firm of Dykes Brothers. However, the stylised clock face with distinctive numbering is likely to have been to a design by Mackintosh. Electrically operated, the 'master' clock' powered all the numerous wooden 'slave' clocks by means of an electrical pulse every 30 seconds. This item was assessed for conversation in 2010 as part of the Mackintosh Conservation and Access project (2006-2010), and then again in 2018 following the fire in the Mackintosh Building in June 2018.

A collection of sketches, designs, photographs and lithographs by Donald Melvin completed during his time as a student at Glasgow School of Art in the 1960s.
Includes work carried out as part of courses such as, for example, Interior Design, the History of Furniture, the 2nd Year General Course, the Pre-Diploma /Foundation Course and Woodcarving.

Also includes sketches carried out during GSA summer schools abroad in Florence and in Norway, and materials relating to extra-curricular activities such as photographs of productions staged by GSA Dramatic Club and Christmas ball posters.

One of three ceiling light clusters designed for the new Board Room at Glasgow School of Art. Each fitting consists of nine lampshades suspended from a decorative iron frame.

The library was destroyed by fire on 23 May 2014, though many metal and glass fragments from the lights were subsequently salvaged. Originally, and according to Mackintosh’s preparatory sketches, there were thought to be 53 individual lights in the library, each with punched holes in the inner reflectors which allowed light to pass through blue and purple glass. The central array was made up of 12 small canisters attached to the light frame on the ceiling, with eight medium pendants and five large pendants hanging below. There were an additional twelve medium canisters attached to the coffered ceiling both above and below the library balcony, making 24. Originally there were also four additional medium hanging pendants in each of the south and western window bays, though these four lights, and the medium canister in the librarians office, had all been removed before the fire in 2014, meaning there were 48 in the library. This incomplete light, was one of the largest single pieces salvaged from the floor of the library and the decision has been taken not to try and restore it but rather to keep it in its current condition as a visual record of the tragedy.

This small selection of salvaged lights fragments has been retained as evidence of the fire tragedy. These fragments are also surplus to the needs of Rodney French of Lonsdale and Dutch, Edinburgh who has been tasked with reconstructing the entire set of library lights, whilst reusing as much of the surviving fragments as possible.
