Works of Robert Stewart collected by Liz Arthur

Contains four greeting cards designed by Robert Stewart; Commonwealth Arts Festival exhibition catalogue, 1965 (cover art was designed by Robert Stewart); and a photocopy of Exhibition of Contemporary Scottish Crafts, 1957, with artwork done by Robert Stewart. Also includes four textile samples. The samples are of the following designs: 'Masks' (also called 'Altiere'), one in orange & green and one in blue & brown; 'Mirage' in pink; and 'Applecross' in orange, green and blue.

Whyte Family Photographs

Collection of photographs of Kath Whyte and her family; including childhood portraits of Kath, photographs of Kath as a child with her mother and other relatives, and photographs of other Whyte family members.

There are two albums of black and white family photographs which include photographs of Girl Guide camp, Lunan Bay, class picnics, Dalkeith, Jamshedpur, and Art School in Aberdeen.

Also included is a picture postcard of the Viper troopship that Kath Whyte's father, Henry Smith Whyte, sailed with during the war (sent to Kath by her father) and two news cuttings related to the death of Kath Whyte's father, Henry Smith Whyte, in 1934: one taken from 'Guide' 7 April 1934 and the other featuring a picture of the changes made to the crossing where he died.

The Third Eye Centre: A side project

Architectural drawings on rolled greaseproof sheets to study the design of The Third Eye Centre in Glasgow as a side project which had been directed by the tutor of the third full-time year course. It consists of two sheets, a large rolled sheet, and a small rolled one. Greaseproof sheet has been used due to its cheap cost, stated by the architect.

Some of this material was damaged in the fire in GSA's Mackintosh Building on 23rd May 2014. The items in question have been assessed by a conservator. Some paper conservation was completed in 2019, but unfortunately in some cases no remedial work is possible.

A selection of lecture notes on the history of art, composition and basic techniques used by W.D Bone in his teaching position at GSA. These are accompanied by drawings and diagrams as well as exam question papers from Glasgow Academy and essays written by him. This file also originally included 3 copies of the 1904-1905 Glasgow School of Architecture Curriculum - a copy of this can now be found in the ACC collection of Architecture Prospectuses.

One large woven length of red fabric speckled with white featuring orange half-circle at one side and decorative coarse red thread stitches.
