The registers comprise lists of all students registering for attendance at Glasgow School of Art. Details recorded include registered number, name, age, month and year of admission to the School, address, trade or occupation of father.

This material has been appraised in line with Glasgow School of Art Archives and Collections standard procedures.
System of arrangement
The registers are organised chronologically. Within each register students are listed alphabetically by surname.
Name of creator
The registers were originally maintained by the Secretary and Treasurer. The responsibility for their maintenance passed to the Registrar on the establishment of the office of Registrar in 1943
