The photograph features Archibald Haswell Miller and Josephine Haswell Miller alongside a group of males and females.

The supporting text reads "A group at the meeting of the Governors of the Glasgow School of Art this week, when Mr John D. Revel (centre), of Chelsea, was introduced to the board on the occasion of his taking up duty.–"Bulletin" Photo." The newscutting is supported by a handwritten map located below it. It offers the list of names and the location of the subjects in the photograph.

The cardboard also displays additional annotations by Haswell Miller: "We accepted him with all kindness and welcome. After a few weeks he called the staff together and practically told us he was going to sack the lot! I anticipated this by accepting the keepership of the National Galleries. Edinburgh. Including a combination of typed materials, hand written notes, annotated diagrams and drawings by Conrad McKenna for delivery of the First Year Course including: course overview, course topics, exercises and talks. Materials outline and discuss: materials, processes, techniques, definitions and references relating to: printing, papers, typography, wood and metal work, pattern, drawing, colour, shape and volume, tone, communication, photography, design and design theory. The majority of the material is titled "First Year Course".

A collection of hand written and typed articles with accompanying photographs and ephemera by the art critic and journalist Clare Henry.

The collection focusses on reviews and features on visual art and culture predominantly in Scotland for The Herald, Scotland. The articles are usually in draft form with some accompanying notes and multiple versions. Articles for other publications are also included such as Galleries Magazine, Art Review and Time Out as well as commissioned essays written for exhibition catalogues.

The period of writing covers a significant flourishing of the visual arts in Glasgow and Scotland and features perspective and opinion articles on notable artists such as Steven Campbell, Bruce Mclean, George Wylie and Douglas Gordon. The articles also cover significant organisations, opening events and deaths, such as Glasgow Capital of Culture 1990 and Glasgow Museums, the opening of Transmission Gallery, the opening of The Burrell Collection, Degree Shows for Scottish art schools and the Edinburgh Festival.
