This item was lost in the fire in The Mackintosh Building at The Glasgow School of Art on 23rd May 2014. Those depicted include Danny Ferguson, Gordon Huntly, Lewis Allan, Eileen Allen, Joan Docherty, Molly Brown and Ishbel Macdonald.

This poster advertised a lecture given by well known artist David Hockney which was held in the Haldane building at The Glasgow School Of Art on Thursday the 24th of February.

This screen printed banner with a large photo of Mackintosh depicts his signature and the Glasgow School of Art emblem reading: "There is honour in honest error none in the icy perfection of the mere stylist".

This poster advertised an exhibition of work by both past and present students from the School of Design and the Mackintosh School of Architecture at The Glasgow School Of Art. It features a quote from John Kenneth Galbraith who was a prominent economist during this period. He stated "It is on the artistic not less than on the engineering and scientific excellence that economic security and economic progress now depend," The exhibition was held between Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the Mackintosh Museum at The Glasgow School Of Art. It ran from the 9th of February to the 1st of March 1985.

This poster advertised an exhibition of work by students graduating from the Master of Fine Art course as part of The Glasgow School Of Art's 1984 degree show. The image used on the poster was photographed by Jim Oakes and shows the exhibiting students standing on the fire escape steps of the JD Kelly building at The Glasgow School Of Art. The poster was designed at The Glasgow School Of Art and printed by David J Clark Limited. The exhibition ran from the 15th to the 21st of June.

The 1984 Fashion Show was held in the Assembly Building from 30th April to 5th May 1984. The film comprises images of the fashion show poster, followed by footage of the audience arriving at the venue and students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include music, pastels, metallic, rainbow, wedding, hats, white, bright colours, jewellery, off-the-shoulder, flamenco. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: Embroidery and Weaving; and Printed Textiles. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. The set for the show consisted of large musical notes and staves, plus piano keyboards. It was designed and built by Minty Donald and Jean Cameron. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. This poster advertised The Glasgow School Of Art fashion show held in the school's Assembly Hall between the 30th April and the 5th May 1984. Tickets for this event were priced at £2 with a discounted price of £1.50 for students, O.A.Ps and the unemployed.

This poster advertised an exhibtion which showcased the work of design students from The Glasgow School Of Art in the Cassina Gallery in Milan. The exhibition took place as a result of the connections between Cassina Design in Italy and The Glasgow School Of Art. The poster was designed by Gordon Huntly who was the head of graphic design at The Glasgow School Of Art at that time. It was printed in the Foulis Building on an offset lithography printing press. The information on the poster translates as: "Design from Glasgow School Of Art: Cassina in Milan, March 23rd to April 6th. Ceramics. Embroidery and fabrics. Design for furniture, furnishings and industrial products. Jewellery and Silverware. Art Graphics, Illustration. Printed Fabrics".

This poster advertised the masters course in design offered by The Glasgow School of Art in the mid 1980s. The poster details the objectives and benefits of studying for a postgraduate qualification at The Glasgow School Of Art, including the multidisciplinary opportunities available, the different course options, the Mackintosh legacy and the Glasgow style. The design of the poster suggests it could also have been used as a promotional leaflet. This particular copy has an Irn Bru sticker attached to it that dates back to the 1980s.

This poster promoted the new one year long Master of Design course offered at The Glasgow School Of Art. The course offered a variety of creative disciplines including ceramics, embroidered textiles, graphic design with illustration and photography, interior design, printed and knitted textiles, product design and silversmithing and jewellery. It ran from January to December and was split into four terms of study with each student's programme tailored to their statement of intent.

The exhibition included ceramics, embroidery and fabrics, design for furniture, furnishings and industrial products, silverware and jewellery, graphic art, illustration and printed fabrics.

This poster advertised a lecture given by illustrator Brian Grimwood that was held in the Glasgow Film Theatre on the 18th of November 1993. The lecture was advertised as a "Design School Distinguished Lecture" discussing the illustrative design work of Grimwood. Another lecture was also held at the Ca' d'oro Building on Gordon Street for members of the Chartered Society of Designers.

The style of this poster is similar to that of a poster for the Master of Design fashion show which was designed by illustrator Ingeborg Smith and can be found under the reference number GSA/EPH/10/13.

This poster advertised a lecture given by actor Burt Kwouk and director Joe McGrath which was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre on the 23rd of February 1983. Burt Kwouk is famously known for his character Cato in the Pink Panther films while Joe McGrath was a student at The Glasgow School Of Art in the 1940s. The poster was printed by Bob Stewart who was a senior member of staff at The Glasgow School Of Art at this time.

This poster advertised an exhibition of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh in 1983 at the Fine Art Society, 134 Blythswood Street, Glasgow, which ran from 24 Aug to 26 Sep 1983. Entitled 'The 1933 Memorial Exhibition: A Reconstruction', it was part of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society's 10th Anniversary Celebrations (1973-1983). The poster features a watercolour painting of a flower in lilac, white and black paint.

Five talks were given by Donald Forbes of the Conservation Department and The National Galleries of Scotland. These talks were obligatory for second year drawing and painting students to attend.
