Textile work by Glasgow School of Art students and staff, including examples of woven textiles, some of which are most likely to be submissions for degree shows, while others seem to be submissions for an RSA Bursary Competition. Some creators are known, others are yet to be identified.

Twelve chairs were made in 1904 for the GSA, but William Davidson acquired a further two, with six of MC/F/58 for use as dining chairs in the hall at Windyhill. Twelve chairs reupholstered in brown horsehair 1984. One chair on loan from Glasgow University, returned 1984. A more elegant version of the windsor chairs designed for the Dutch Kitchen at Argyle Street (Billcliffe 1906.49). These chairs proved much too delicate for their original purpose; only eight of approximately forty have survived, and all of these have had to be reinforced. They were replaced in the GSA Library c1950 by the much sturdier chairs originally designed for the Ingram Street Tea Rooms, MC/F/67. The Ingram Street Tea Rooms were purchased by Glasgow Corporation in 1951 for £25,000 and were then rented out as various shops and warehouses.

'An exaggeratedly tall design which complements the vast interior spaces of the studios. Quite a number of easels must have been provided at the time of the completion of the School, but very few still survive.' (Roger Billcliffe).

The original position of the fifth lamp is not known. In 1985 it was cleaned and placed above the School outer front doors, at the same time as these were repainted white.

This is a poster for the 3rd year Textiles Fashion Show held at 7pm and 9pm each night from 8th-9th Mar 2011 . The event was accompanied by a boutique and secret postcard sale with an aftershow party held at the Buff Club. The event was sponsored by Mandors Fabric Store, Buchanan Galleries shopping centre, PRI and Mash amplification. One of the themes of this year's fashion show was the Newbery Tower, which was due for demolition during the School's summer vacation in 2011. The Archives also hold digital images of the secret postcard sale, which involved the selling of postcards created by past and present students on the theme of the Newbery Tower.

This poster advertised an event featuring the New Music Group held in the Mackintosh Building in architecture studio 30. According to Jimmy Cosgrove, who was the previous deputy director of The Glasgow School Of Art in the 1990s, the New Music Group was a fusion of medieval and modern music styles of the 70s. It is believed that this event was associated with Neil Morrison, a tutor who made lutes and played numerous concerts at both The Glasgow School Of Art and the Third Eye Centre.
This poster advertised a lecture given by illustrator and animator Bob Godfrey. Godfrey is famous for his animated cartoons including Roobarb, Noah and Nelly and Henry's Cat. The lecture was held on the 30th of May 1979 and part of it involved Godfrey offering to critique the student's own films.
This poster advertised a lecture given by architecture critic Rayner Banham which was held in the Haldane Building on the 21st of February 1962. Banham was also a prolific writer and is best known for his theoretical treatise 'Theory and Design in the First Machine Age' (1960) and for his book 'Los Angeles: The Architecture of Four Ecologies' (1971). The poster states "Come on babey, do the mega structure" which is a pun on the 1962 pop song 'Loco-Motion' by Eva Boyd.
