The 1985 Fashion Show was held in the Assembly Building from 11th to 16th March 1985. The film comprises footage of students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include African, Oriental, Egyptian, hats, bright colours, white, geometry, metallic, sleeves, fruit, accessories, Greek, graphics. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: Embroidery and Weaving; Fine Art; Sculpture; and Printed Textiles. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. The set for the show consisted of a black background with white symbols. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. The Glasgow School Of Art Fashion Show was held in the Assembly Building on The Glasgow School Of Art campus. The show ran once per day from the 11th to the 16th of March 1985. Tickets for this event were priced at £2 with a discounted price of £1.50 for students, O.A.Ps, parties and the unemployed.

This poster advertised a series of exhibitions featuring the work of contemporary artists from the province of Ontario in Canada. The exhibitions were organised by Visual Arts Ontario and were held in the Mackintosh Museum and the Newbery Gallery within The Glasgow School Of Art campus from the 25th February to the 22nd March 1985.

This poster advertised an exhibition of work by both past and present students from the School of Design and the Mackintosh School of Architecture at The Glasgow School Of Art. It features a quote from John Kenneth Galbraith who was a prominent economist during this period. He stated "It is on the artistic not less than on the engineering and scientific excellence that economic security and economic progress now depend," The exhibition was held between Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the Mackintosh Museum at The Glasgow School Of Art. It ran from the 9th of February to the 1st of March 1985.

This item was lost in the fire in The Mackintosh Building at The Glasgow School of Art on 23rd May 2014. Those depicted include Danny Ferguson, Gordon Huntly, Lewis Allan, Eileen Allen, Joan Docherty, Molly Brown and Ishbel Macdonald.

This poster advertised a lecture given by well known artist David Hockney which was held in the Haldane building at The Glasgow School Of Art on Thursday the 24th of February.

This poster advertised an exhibtion which showcased the work of design students from The Glasgow School Of Art in the Cassina Gallery in Milan. The exhibition took place as a result of the connections between Cassina Design in Italy and The Glasgow School Of Art. The poster was designed by Gordon Huntly who was the head of graphic design at The Glasgow School Of Art at that time. It was printed in the Foulis Building on an offset lithography printing press. The information on the poster translates as: "Design from Glasgow School Of Art: Cassina in Milan, March 23rd to April 6th. Ceramics. Embroidery and fabrics. Design for furniture, furnishings and industrial products. Jewellery and Silverware. Art Graphics, Illustration. Printed Fabrics".

This poster advertised the masters course in design offered by The Glasgow School of Art in the mid 1980s. The poster details the objectives and benefits of studying for a postgraduate qualification at The Glasgow School Of Art, including the multidisciplinary opportunities available, the different course options, the Mackintosh legacy and the Glasgow style. The design of the poster suggests it could also have been used as a promotional leaflet. This particular copy has an Irn Bru sticker attached to it that dates back to the 1980s.

This poster promoted the new one year long Master of Design course offered at The Glasgow School Of Art. The course offered a variety of creative disciplines including ceramics, embroidered textiles, graphic design with illustration and photography, interior design, printed and knitted textiles, product design and silversmithing and jewellery. It ran from January to December and was split into four terms of study with each student's programme tailored to their statement of intent.

Poster for exhibition 'Scozia a Cassina Milano' by The Glasgow School of Art students held in Milan, Italy, 23 Mar 1984-06 Apr 1984. The exhibition included ceramics, embroidery and fabrics, design for furniture, furnishings and industrial products, silverware and jewellery, graphic art, illustration and printed fabrics.

This poster advertised a lecture given by illustrator Brian Grimwood that was held in the Glasgow Film Theatre on the 18th of November 1993. The lecture was advertised as a "Design School Distinguished Lecture" discussing the illustrative design work of Grimwood. Another lecture was also held at the Ca' d'oro Building on Gordon Street for members of the Chartered Society of Designers.

This poster advertised a lecture given by actor Burt Kwouk and director Joe McGrath which was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre on the 23rd of February 1983. Burt Kwouk is famously known for his character Cato in the Pink Panther films while Joe McGrath was a student at The Glasgow School Of Art in the 1940s. The poster was printed by Bob Stewart who was a senior member of staff at The Glasgow School Of Art at this time.

This poster advertised an exhibition of Charles Rennie Mackintosh and Margaret Macdonald Mackintosh in 1983 at the Fine Art Society, 134 Blythswood Street, Glasgow, which ran from 24 Aug to 26 Sep 1983. Entitled 'The 1933 Memorial Exhibition: A Reconstruction', it was part of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society's 10th Anniversary Celebrations (1973-1983). The poster features a watercolour painting of a flower in lilac, white and black paint.

The show also features an extravagant period ballgown, designed by Kenny McLellan, which was subsequently shown at the “Young Blood” exhibition at the Barbican Centre in London, in November 1983 to January 1984. The set for the show consisted of a pale, self-coloured fabric backdrop. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. This poster is for an exhibition of Charles Rennie Mackintosh's lost furniture from the Glasgow School of Art in association with the Glasgow Herald. The poster features Miss Kate Cranston's bedroom suite, which Mackintosh designed in 1904.

This poster advertised an exhibition of paper sculptures by the designer Kisa Kawakami. The exhibition was held in the Mackintosh Library and ran from the 1st to the 18th of December 1981.

This poster advertised a retirement party arranged in honour of David A. Donaldson. Donaldson grew up in Coatbridge near Glasgow. He received a place at The Glasgow School Of Art at the age of fifteen despite having no formal qualifications and went on to become the head of drawing and painting in 1967. He was recognised for his portraiture, notably his portrait of Queen Elizabeth the Second in 1967. Donaldson remained at The Glasgow School Of Art until his retirement in 1981. The retirement party was held in The Glasgow Art Club on Bath Street in Glasgow on the 24th of June 1981. The poster was printed by Bob Stewart who was head of design at The Glasgow School Of Art at this time.

This poster advertised a lecture given by fashion and textiles designer Zandra Rhodes who is known for her dramatic designs and bold use of colour. The lecture was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre on Wednesday the 6th of May 1981.

This poster advertised an exhibition of work by the illustrator Ralph Steadman which took place in the Bourdon Building in March 1981. Steadman is known for his illustrative work for Hunter S. Thompson, Private Eye Magazine and the New York Times. The reverse of the poster is annotated in pencil with the date '1981'.
