This poster advertised a lecture given by BBC film maker Tom Cotter. The lecture was held in the Newbery staff lounge in the Newbery Tower at The Glasgow School Of Art on Wednesday the 25th of October. The poster also advertised a film competition that would take place during the art school's activities week.

Poster for a series of exhibitions entitled 'Beyond the Repeatable Image: The Ontario Project'

This poster advertised a series of exhibitions featuring the work of contemporary artists from the province of Ontario in Canada. The exhibitions were organised by Visual Arts Ontario and were held in the Mackintosh Museum and the Newbery Gallery within The Glasgow School Of Art campus from the 25th February to the 22nd March 1985.

Poster for GSA Fashion Show

This is a poster for the 3rd year Textiles Fashion Show held at 7pm and 9pm each night from 8th-9th Mar 2011 . The event was accompanied by a boutique and secret postcard sale with an aftershow party held at the Buff Club. The event was sponsored by Mandors Fabric Store, Buchanan Galleries shopping centre, PRI and Mash amplification. One of the themes of this year's fashion show was the Newbery Tower, which was due for demolition during the School's summer vacation in 2011. The Archives also hold digital images of the secret postcard sale, which involved the selling of postcards created by past and present students on the theme of the Newbery Tower.

Poster for a farewell dinner for Kath Whyte

This poster advertised a farewell dinner held for the retirement of Kath Whyte. Whyte taught in The Glasgow School of Art's textile department from 1949 to 1974 and was highly regarded for her work in embroidery and weave.The event took place in the Newbery Tower on the 12th of June 1974. The poster was designed and printed by Robert Stewart who produced a number of the posters in The Glasgow School Of Art's poster collection. Stewart was acting Head Of Design in 1974.

Poster for staff and student event entitled 'A Brew Up For Bob Mitchell In The Staff Lounge'

This poster advertised an event held in the staff lounge at The Glasgow School Of Art in honour of maintenance staff member Bob Mitchell. The poster features a caricature of Bob Mitchell illustrated by Danny Ferguson who was a lecturer at The Glasgow School Of Art. Although his main duty was maintaining the school's boiler system, Mitchell was also a reliable handy man. He is credited for constructing huge billboards which were errected in front of The Glasgow School Of Art's Newbery Tower to advertise events happening during Activities Week. These various talks and events were advertised on large scale posters, many of which can now be found in The Glasgow School Of Art's poster collection.
