The 1978 Fashion Show was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre from the 24th to 28th April 1978. The film comprises a combination of still images and film footage of students preparing for the show behind the scenes, and modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments. Styles and themes include metallic fabrics, sportswear, bodysuits and off-the-shoulder dresses. Children’s clothes were also modelled in the show although these are not shown in the film. Garments were designed and modelled mostly by students or former students. Indigo Designs also designed evening dresses for the show. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: 1st year; Embroidery and Weaving; Textiles; and Graphics. Hair was by the Hely Design Group and shoes were from Ravel. The set for the show consisted of a pale, self-coloured ruched fabric backdrop. The 1985 Fashion Show was held in the Assembly Building from 11th to 16th March 1985. The film comprises footage of students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include African, Oriental, Egyptian, hats, bright colours, white, geometry, metallic, sleeves, fruit, accessories, Greek, graphics. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: Embroidery and Weaving; Fine Art; Sculpture; and Printed Textiles. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. The set for the show consisted of a black background with white symbols. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. The 1986 Fashion Show was held in the Assembly Hall from 10th to 15th March 1986. The film comprises footage of students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include Egyptian, metallic, wedding, Queen of Hearts, cloaks, formalwear, masks, hats, bright colours, geometry, flamboyant, utility wear. There is also a dress made from Benson and Hedges cigarette packets – the model wearing this dress is smoking on stage. There were also a number of Harris Tweed garments in the show as Harris Tweed ran a design competition that year. Students involved in the show came from a variety of subject areas and years, including: Embroidery and Weaving; Silversmithing and Jewellery; and Printed Textiles. All the textiles students modelling designed garments for the show. It is believed that this show had a mix of professional models and students. The models were less experienced models from agencies. The set for the show consisted of a garage workshop setting with car and motor parts at the rear and sides of the stage. It was designed by the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. The hair for this show was by Taylor Ferguson. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. This poster advertised an exhibition of work by postgraduate fine art students in 1985. The exhibition was held in the Mackintosh Building at The Glasgow School Of Art and included work by students studying drawing and painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture and stained glass. The exhibition ran from the 14th to the 20th of June and the image on the poster shows exhibiting students. The photograph was taken by H. Kerr and was printed at David J. Clark Limited. The reverse of the poster is annotated with "Photo by Harry Kerr, Graphics".

This poster advertised two lectures focusing on films and film making which were given by both Joe McGrath and Bob Godfrey. The event was held in the Haldane building as part of The Glasgow School Of Art's annual Activities Week. Joe McGrath is known for his work as a director on films such as the 1967 version of Casino Royale, The Goon Show and Rising Damp. Bob Godfrey is an illustrator and animator, most famously known for his animation for children's television shows 'Roobarb' and 'Henry's Cat'. The poster is promoted on page 19 of The Glasgow School Of Art prospectus for 1972/73.

This poster advertised a concert of medieval music which was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre on Thursday the 22nd of February 1973 featuring Neil Morrison on lute and guitar. Morrison taught at The Glasgow School Of Art from 1970 to 1972 and made his own instruments. He played a number of concerts around Glasgow at this time, including one at The Third Eye Centre in April 1987.

This poster advertised an event to mark the retirement of Robert Begg which took place on the 31st of May 1975. Begg was on the Board of Governors for The Glasgow School of Art between 1970 and 1975. The poster was designed and printed by Bob Stewart, who was a senior lecturer in design at this point.

This poster advertised a lecture given by fashion and textiles designer Zandra Rhodes who is known for her dramatic designs and bold use of colour. The lecture was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre on Wednesday the 6th of May 1981.

Macdonald had recently returned from travelling around Belgium and Italy having been awarded the John David Cargill Travelling Scholarship. This poster advertised a lecture given by musician, artist and actor Ian Dury who is most famously known for being the lead singer of Ian Dury and the Blockheads. The lecture was held in the Bourdon Hall in the Bourdon building on The Glasgow School Of Art campus.

This poster advertised The Glasgow School Of Art's annual degree show. The exhibition was held on The Glasgow School Of Art campus as well as in the Centre for Contemporary Arts and Tramway which are local arts centres. The 2003 degree show was sponsored by McGrigor Donald, Hoegaarden Beer, the MacFarlane Group and the Gordon Yuill Company. The image used in the poster is by Raul Ortega and the poster was designed by Inlapland.

This poster advertised the Master of Fine Art exhibition of 1986. The exhibition was held in the McLellan Galleries on Sauchiehall Street from the 14th to the 19th of June and included work by a number of artists including Rosemary Beaton, Steven Elliott, Deran Fenwick, Gerard Ferris, Thomas Hegarty, Henry Kerr, Lorraine A. Lamond, Richard Levan, Tracy Mackenna, Craig Peacock and David Watt.

This poster advertised an event featuring the New Music Group which was held in architecture studio 30 in the Mackintosh Building. According to previous deputy director of the school Jimmy Cosgrove, the New Music Group was a fusion of medieval and modern musical styles. This event is believed to be associated with Neil Morrison who was a tutor at The Glasgow School Of Art. Morrison was known for making his own lutes and playing numerous concerts at both the Third Eye Centre and The Glasgow School Of Art.

This item forms part of a large scale poster advertising The Glasgow School Of Art's 1986 activities week. This portion of the poster advertises a fashion show which was held in the school's Assembly Hall from the 10th to the 15th of March. Tickets were priced at £2.50 with a £1 discount for concessions. Taylor Fegusson hairdressers were responsible for styling the model's hair and the set was designed by the Royal Scottish Academy Of Music And Drama.
