The exact date and location of the 1982 fashion show are unknown.  Other shows held around this time were however held in the spring, and in the Assembly building or in the Assembly Hall of the Bourdon Building. The film comprises footage of students modelling on the stage. There is a mixture of men’s and women’s garments.  Styles and themes of garments include rainbow, futuristic, Oriental, Egyptian, ballgowns, stripes, geometry, hats, formal, off-the-shoulder, utility wear, white, accessories, metallic, fantasy, swimwear. The show also features an extravagant period ballgown, designed by Kenny McLellan, which was subsequently shown at the “Young Blood” exhibition at the Barbican Centre in London, in November 1983 to January 1984. The set for the show consisted of a pale, self-coloured fabric backdrop. The soundtrack for this film was added during the editing phase of the film and contains music which was played at the fashion show. Bound in the Spring 1896 edition of 'The Magazine'. It was designs such as this that earned the Mackintosh group the nickname of 'Spook School'.

Designed for the Director's Room, Glasgow School of Art. Twelve chairs were made in 1904 for the GSA, but William Davidson acquired a further two, with six of MC/F/58 for use as dining chairs in the hall at Windyhill. Twelve chairs reupholstered in brown horsehair 1984. One chair on loan from Glasgow University, returned 1984. These items were assessed for conservation in 2010 as part of the Mackintosh Conservation and Access Project (2006-2010).

This poster advertised a retirement party arranged in honour of David A. Donaldson. Donaldson grew up in Coatbridge near Glasgow. He received a place at The Glasgow School Of Art at the age of fifteen despite having no formal qualifications and went on to become the head of drawing and painting in 1967. He was recognised for his portraiture, notably his portrait of Queen Elizabeth the Second in 1967. Donaldson remained at The Glasgow School Of Art until his retirement in 1981. The retirement party was held in The Glasgow Art Club on Bath Street in Glasgow on the 24th of June 1981. The poster was printed by Bob Stewart who was head of design at The Glasgow School Of Art at this time.

This poster advertised a retirement dinner for Lennox Paterson. Paterson worked at The Glasgow School Of Art between 1964 and 1979, occupying various roles including Head of Design and Deputy Head of the school. He was highly regarded for his wood engravings of animals and the poster features elements of this style. The event was held in the Bourdon Hall at The Glasgow School Of Art on the 20th of December 1979. The poster was designed and printed by Bob Stewart who was a senior lecturer in printed textiles at this time.

This poster advertised a lecture by Richard Smith which was held in the Haldane Building at The Glasgow School Of Art. The poster was designed and printed by Jimmy Cosgrove who worked as a senior lecturer in the textiles department at this time.

This poster advertised a concert by the eccentric jazz musician George Melly which was held in the Bourdon Assembly Hall on Tuesday the 3rd of March 1981. Another poster advertising a George Melly concert at The Glasgow School Of Art in 1992 can be found under the reference number GSAA/EPH/10/30.

This poster advertised a lecture given by Lily Greenham who was known for her concrete and sound poetry. The lecture was held in the Haldane Building at The Glasgow School Of Art.

This poster advertised The Glasgow School Of Art's 1974 fashion show which was held in the Mackintosh Building between the 18th and the 22nd of March.

This poster advertised the work of graduating students from the Master of Design course which was part of The Glasgow School Of Art graduate degree show in 1983. The exhibition was held in the Mackintosh Building on The Glasgow School Of Art campus from the 10th to the 16th of December. The style of this poster is similar to that of a poster for the Master of Design fashion show which was designed by illustrator Ingeborg Smith and can be found under the reference number GSA/EPH/10/13.

This poster advertised a lecture given by the German architect Herman Hertzberger. Hertzberger is widely considered to be one of the influences behind the Dutch Structuralist movement of the mid 20th century. The lecture was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre on The Glasgow School Of Art campus on the 20th of February 1975.

The exact meaning of the symbolism of this work, and its companion, 'The Tree of Influence' has eluded all commentators on Mackintosh's early water-colours. The obvious source of the symbolism is nature, and Mackintosh here reaches his most extreme distortion of organic forms.' (Roger Billcliffe).

This piece was entered by the artist into a summer competition for students. It was then chosen by Director DP Bliss to be framed and displayed in the entrance hall of the Mackintosh Building. It was removed following redecoration of the entrance hall in 2006-2010.

Poster for screening of 'Daisies', a film by Vera Chytilova at the Bourdon Lecture Theatre. Date of screening was 29 Oct, year unknown but believed to be late 20th century. Note that 'Chytilova' is spelt 'Chitilova' on the poster.

This item was damaged in the fire in GSA's Mackintosh Building on 23rd May 2014 and was conserved in 2018.

Sandstone name plaque for the GSA Common Room, which was part of the building on the opposite side of Renfrew Street aquired ca. 1920 to allow the School to expand.  This building housed the Assembly Hall which was opened in 1929, so other facillities are assumed to date from around the same time. (Plaque was formerly wrongly identified as that for the Assembly Hall).

This poster is part of a course project organised by the Visual Communications department. The brief for the project required students to design a poster for a particular film they had been assigned. In this example, student Aaron McLaughlin has designed a poster for the Roy Andresson film 'You, the Living'. McLaughlin used Typeset printing techniques to create this poster.
