Sandstone name plaque for the GSA Staff Refectory, which was part of the building on the opposite side of Renfrew Street aquired ca. 1920 to allow the School to expand. A litho stone with three separate plates of a steam train, an elephant and hippopotamus, and one of two unidentified animals. Beneath the steam train picture is a black marker pen label reading '3d HMO Painting Book Blue Sept 1938'.
A sketchbook with 29 loose leaf sketches and second year exam papers. The name Antony J H Miles, Sect. 4, Second Year 1950, are all recorded on a cream label attached to the grey card cover above an unfinished sketch of the head of a man wearing glasses.
Large brown pottery bottle vase with black leaf pattern. No obvious makers mark, but believed to be by John Calderwood who worked as a technician in the ceramics department of the Art School during the 1990s.

Oil portrait, quarter length, of John Murdoch, a Master at Glasgow School of Art from 1848 until his death in 1854. Sitter is clean shaven, wearing a black bow tie and white winged collar shirt and dark jacket against a dark background. No visible signature of artist or identifying label on frame; donor believes that it may be a self portrait.
Japanese inspired dark wood gavel and block with engraved silver coloured metal commemorative plaque reading, "Presented to the Glasgow School of Art by the City of Glasgow on the occasion of their 150th anniversary, 28 June 1995."
Plaster and resin cast, possibly taken from an older wood carving showing a nativity scene on the long face and an Annunciation and Joseph on either end. The reverse is hollow with rough resin marks. Shape suggests it is copied from a capital at the top of a pilaster. Formerly located in the Director's office.

Cream coloured glazed ceramic Chinese figure in court dress. Some damage (repaired) to neck and missing hands. Old paper label with no. 629/20 and 'Sch 76' in red paint inside figure suggest that it was part of the School's handling collection.
Modern long case 'master' electric clock, c1960s. Formerly in the Janitors Office, it was used to run the Mackintosh 'slave' clocks throughout the building. Heavy pendulum stored separately.
Heavyweight unbleached cotton vertical banner with Mackintosh weather vane in brown and Mackintosh School of Architecture in red Mackintosh style lettering underneath.
Striped cotton jumpsuit in cream, light and dark green, light and dark lilac, and khaki. The design of the garment suggests that the material was dyed to suit. Strapless fitted bodice with darts opening to wide legged trousers which gather at the ankles in a decorative thread weave cuff. Lace tie fastening on the front of the bodice with braided cord made from coloured threads that match the material. The garment demonstrates a variety of pattern cutting and construction skills and was probably made for a Glasgow School of Art fashion show.
A round and commercially available brass clock installed into the Board Room of the Mackintosh Building and linked to the electrical circuit of Mackintosh studio clocks introduced in 1909/10. The brass clock can be seen illustrated in the background of Francis Newbery's painting of the GSA Building Committee meeting in the Board Room which dates from 1909-1914.
Cape sleeved jacket with long, mermaid style fishtail made of an iridescent synthetic fabric lined with green synthetic silk and decorated with strands of couched wool in a fish scale design. Thought to have been made and used as a costume for a masque or play at The Glasgow School of Art in the early-mid 20th century.

Large and wide white ornamental vase with light and dark blue hand-painted floral patterns. Hand-painted bands of designs along the mouth and the bottom. Has a lid with several hand-painted bands of light and dark blue patterns. '18-24' handwritten in black on bottom of vase and lid. Glaze over the vase and lid. Was given to one of the school's directors as a gift.
