The diary has entries pertaining to Miller's appointments, a list of addresses and some sketches on the back pages. Inside the diary there are two newspaper clippings. One related to the suicide Erich Rom in Partick, a student from Berlin (inside pages 40-41), and another related to a match between Glasgow High School and Glasgow Academy (inside pages 54-55)

In between pages 126-127 there are some scraps of paper, two of which are tickets to theatre shows at the Playhouse and the Kings Theatre, another is a counterfoil for a postal order.

Inside the diary there is also a woven or knitted patch, perhaps for mending clothing.
