Archival history
The Museum and Archives Committee began as the Museum Management Committee and it first met on 11 Nov 1998. The Board of Governors first established the committee to be responsible for the management of the Mackintosh Collections of the School and to work towards Registration with the Museums and Galleries Commission. The Committee’s remit widened to include the other historical collections of the School and it became the ‘Museum Committee’ in 2003 before changing name to the ‘Museum and Archives Committee’ in 2008.

Minutes over 30 years old are available for public consultation. Permission from the board of governors is needed for access to those which are less than 30 years old. Records containing sensitive information about individuals have been collected into separate folders that will be closed for 75 years, in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
