History

First enrolled at the GSA in 1884, when her address was 42 Grant Street and she recorded her father’s occupation as Canal Works Superintendent. From 1887, her address changed to 63 North Cumberland Street and by 1888, she was recording her occupation in the registers as teacher. A successful student, she received commendations and certificates annually during her time at GSA and in 1893, her last year at the School, won a bronze medal in a National competition for a relief model of a figure from a cast.

Particularly known for her brass and tin Glasgow-style repousse work, there are examples in the Glasgow Museums collection, notably a repousse tin triptych of a girl seated in a rose arbour flanked by side panels of trees with cabbage roses.
