History

William Ross was born in Govan, Glasgow on the 3rd of September 1872, son of Mary Ross [née Wright] and George Ross. Ross attended The Glasgow School of Art from 1888 to 1889 as a student of Architecture. During the First World War, Ross served as a Captain in the Lancashire Yeomanry. Ross is commemorated on The Glasgow School of Art's First World War Roll of Honour.
