History
Mary H. P. Robertson was born in 1893 and studied at The Glasgow School of Art between 1914 and 1917. During this time, Robertson resided at 10 Grafton Square (possibly Grafton Place). Her tuition was subsidised by the City Local Authority.
Robertson was enrolled as an evening student for her first two years at The School, becoming a day student in her final year. Robertson studied Modelling, which would have included Life Drawing and Antique. She was likely under the tutelage of Professors Alexander Proudfoot and James Gray.
Robertson went on to have some success in her artistic career and was particularly active between 1920 and 1927. She exhibited painting work with The Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts, including pieces named 'Early Summer' and 'A Sunlit Lane.'
