Jane Clark Rae was born in 1898 and studied at The Glasgow School of Art between 1915 and 1917. During her time at the college she resided at Craighead Street, Barrhead and undertook her studies as a day student.

Rae studied drawing and painting throughout her time at The Glasgow School of Art and is recorded as being situated in Room 30. It is possible she was a student of Professor Maurice Greiffenhagen, a member of The Royal Academy and renowned portrait painter. Please get in touch
