Agnes Paul (born 16th April 1899) attended The Glasgow School of Art between 1917 and 1921, studying drawing and painting and modelling during day classes. Her address was given as "The Whitehouse" which was in Upper Colquhoun Street in Helensburgh.

At this residence, she lived with her engineer father Henry Paul (born 1863), mother Margaret Paul (born 1869), brother Henry Paul (born 1897), aunt Isabella Matheson (born1861) and three servants.
