History

John (Jack) Millar was born in Glasgow on 15th May 1896. He attended The Glasgow School of Art from 1914 to 1916 as an evening student of drawing and painting. Millar's occupation was as a design copyist and he resided on Mannering Road, Shawlands. According to Ancestry, Millar's parents were John A and Letitia Millar. His name is on the School's registers as Jack, but it appears that his official name was John, the same as his father's. Millar and his family are on the Glasgow electoral register for Mannering Road from 1918 to 1928.
