The collection consists of printed textiles, garments and papers relating to Fraser Taylor's time as an undergraduate student at GSA (1978-1981), a postgraduate student at RCA (1983), and items relating to other professional activities. It also includes examples of textiles and associated ephemera for design collective The Cloth (1983-1987).

Teaching examples

14 sheets of teaching examples and one title page, assumed to have been compiled as Murphy's portfolio during his career as an art teacher in schools located in Scotland, such as Motherwell RC High School and Coatbridge Secondary School. These teaching materials include pattern designs, graphic designs (possibly for students' school activities), and woodblock printmaking examples. Most items have been marked with the intended level of students as appropriate examples for education.

This item was damaged in the fire in The Mackintosh Building at The Glasgow School of Art on 23rd May 2014. It was assessed by a conservator but no conservation work was deemed possible. Small white spice jar with red and black transfer design. Two relief bands of circles around the body. Gold lid.
