Bronze portrait bust. On plinth: "Patrick Smith Dunn C.B.E/Govenor of the Glasgow School of Art 1893-1930/Chairman 1914-1930". Dunn was a Glasgow shipping agent.
A pencil sketch of a young man working in the sculpture workshop. A hand written label on the reverse reads, 'John Murdoch sketch by himself at Glasgow School of Art when a student.' In another hand, the dates 1824 - 1954 have been added. On the backing sheet, another note reads,' John Murdoch (1824 - 1854) Self portrait at Glasgow School of Art when Rector.'
This item was lost in the fire in The Mackintosh Building at The Glasgow School of Art on 23rd May 2014. Inscribed verso: "Member of the Fianna na h'Alba Club run by Seamus MacNeill (piper)".
