Robert Stewart ceramic mural commissions

Contains colour and black & white reproductions and 26 colour photographs of Robert Stewart's ceramic mural commissions, c1960-1979, with Liz Arthur's accompanying notes. Includes images of tiles for swimming pool on SS Oriana, early 1960s; fireplace at 5 Clarkston Rd., Busby commissioned by Ian Millan, 1963; design for 'very rough suggestion for entrance hall at Campsie', 1963; Campsie Glen Hotel mural, designed 1963 and later demolished; ceramic mural at Royal Garden Hotel, 1964; mural design for Elder's, Argyle St., Glasgow, 1964; design for 'suggested proposal for the entrance to the Hebridean & Highlander' restaurant, 1974; design for Elderslie swimming pool, 1974; ceramic floor & altar steps, St. Joseph's Faifley; 'suggested design for recess in vestry', n.d.; and ceramic tiles, including one given as a wedding gift to Anne Keith. Also includes images of Robert Stewart's works at West Dumbarton Burgh council offices, 1965; Eastwood High School, 1965; Tappit Hen restaurant, Brabloch Hotel, Paisley, 1965; Adelphi St. School, Gorbals, 1965; Douglas Academy, Bearsden, 1966; Motherwell & Wishaw concert hall, 1966 (which won the Saltire Award in 1967); Prestwick Airport, 1973; Hebridean Restaurant, Queen St. Station, 1974; and Brandon Shopping Centre underpass, Motherwell, 1978-1979 (assisted by Peter Anderson).
