'Do you have Future Vision?' A poster promoting the MDes in Design Innovation.

This poster advertised one of the masters of design end of year degree shows. The exhibition was held in the Mackintosh Building on The Glasgow School Of Art campus.

The exhibition was held in the Mackintosh Building on The Glasgow School Of Art campus from the 10th to the 16th of December. The style of this poster is similar to that of a poster for the Master of Design fashion show which was designed by illustrator Ingeborg Smith and can be found under the reference number GSA/EPH/10/13.

The course offered a variety of creative disciplines including ceramics, embroidered textiles, graphic design with illustration and photography, interior design, printed and knitted textiles, product design and silversmithing and jewellery. It ran from January to December and was split into four terms of study with each student's programme tailored to their statement of intent.

The exhibition included work by a number of graduating students including Douglas Clerk, Andrew Crummy, Fiona Knight, Constantine Lykiarodopoulos, Linda MacCafferty [McCafferty], Carolyn Paterson and Maurice Shannon.

Head of department Mike Healey is measuring the typography in the sand and Tony Jones who was the director of The Glasgow School Of Art at this time is represented in the sun.

This poster advertised the masters course in design offered by The Glasgow School of Art in the mid 1980s. The poster details the objectives and benefits of studying for a postgraduate qualification at The Glasgow School Of Art, including the multidisciplinary opportunities available, the different course options, the Mackintosh legacy and the Glasgow style. The design of the poster suggests it could also have been used as a promotional leaflet. This particular copy has an Irn Bru sticker attached to it that dates back to the 1980s.

The exhibition took place as a result of the connections between Cassina Design in Italy and The Glasgow School Of Art. The poster was designed by Gordon Huntly who was the head of graphic design at The Glasgow School Of Art at that time. It was printed in the Foulis Building on an offset lithography printing press. The information on the poster translates as: "Design from Glasgow School Of Art: Cassina in Milan, March 23rd to April 6th. Ceramics. Embroidery and fabrics. Design for furniture, furnishings and industrial products. Jewellery and Silverware. Art Graphics, Illustration. Printed Fabrics".
