This poster advertised an exhibition of work by graduating fine art students included in The Glasgow School Of Art degree show in 1988. The exhibition showcased work by students studying environmental art, painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture and was held in the Mackintosh Building at The Glasgow School Of Art from the 18th to the 23rd of June. The image on the poster is a photograph taken by previous lecturer Vaughan Judge and shows the exhibiting students sitting on the steps of the Mackintosh Building. A key naming most of the students can be found alongside a duplicate copy of the poster under the reference number GSAA/EPH/10/77. The list was compiled with the help of Eddie Stewart who was a former student at The Glasgow School Of Art who then became a tutor in painting and printmaking. Stewart graduated with an undergraduate degree in drawing and painting in 1988 and is included in the photograph on this poster. He then went on to do a Masters in 1990. The poster was designed by The Glasgow School Of Art and printed at David J Clark Limited. This poster advertised the work of graduating fine art students included in The Glasgow School Of Art degree show in 1986. The exhibition included work by students of painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture and environmental art. The undergraduate work was exhibited in the Mackintosh Building on The Glasgow School Of Art campus while the postgraduate students exhibited in the McLellan Galleries on Sauchiehall street. The image used on the poster shows the students standing in front of the Mackintosh Building and was taken by Vaughan Judge who was a previous lecturer at the school. The poster was designed by The Glasgow School Of Art and printed by David J Clark Limited.

Almost all works are by former students and staff or figures related to the history of The Glasgow School of Art. The earliest pieces date from the 16th century and later examples have been purchased from recent Degree Shows. The work is in a variety of media and includes drawings, paintings, prints, sketchbooks, furniture and sculpture. Artists represented include many key figures and the most influential and successful students.

There are also several works from former tutors including Neil Dallas Brown, David Donaldson and Fred Selby, alongside contemporary works by students, donated or purchased at degree show. Key works include those by: Maurice Greiffenhagen, Francis Newbery, John Quinton Pringle, Benno Schotz, Ian Fleming and James D Robertson. Suites of note include large collections of Joan Eardley sketches and paintings, Joan Palmer prints, and architectural drawings by Eugene Bourdon.

Diploma in Design and Decorative Art (Interior Design) from The Glasgow School of Art, awarded to Charles Alexander Wallace Shaw. Calligraphic writing dates the diploma from the 13th of June 1961. The diploma is stored in a blue tube, embossed with The Glasgow School of Art logo, and '35. Charles Shaw.' attached to the top.

The Governors never used this room for meetings and it was initially used as a studio while space was short in the half-finished building. When the new Board Room was built in the second phase of the building, Mackintosh designed a more elaborate version of this chair for it, MC/F/61. Six chairs reupholstered in brown horsehair 1985, very similar to the original fabric found on one of the chairs. Two remaining chairs reupholstered in 1986. Mackintosh's version of a traditional dresser/bookcase, making extensive use of the scalloped edging used at the Oak Room in 1907 and at the Glasgow School of Art Library 1907. (Roger Billcliffe).

Following the fire in the Mackintosh Building in May 2014 it was assessed and conserved in 2019.
