Includes label "Embroidery C_Black and Pink" and instruction on back of frame. Due to information in archival documentation, display case can be dated pre-1943.

Large unglazed ceramic planter with opague glazed decorative relief on the front and a black/brown glazed top. 7 small holes in the bottom. Short, unglazed ceramic stand. The body is narrower and darker in colour. These ceramics were in the library in the Mackintosh Building in the late 1970s before it was in the Bourdon Building.

Stained glass panel. Inscribed above: "Glasgow School of Art"; below: "Isolde Mark's wife who gave the love potion to Tristan". It was one of Fra Newbery's considerable achievements to see the need for training students in industrial art and design and persuade the governors to establish a decorative arts department. His annual report of 1893 announces 'This room has been specially fitted up and artist craftsmen have been engaged to give instruction in such subjects as glass staining, pottery, repousse and metalwork, wood carving and book binding, beside Artistic Needlecraft taught by a Lady.' Early teachers of stained glass at the GSA included Norman Macdougall, Harry Roe and William Stewart. Among the students were Jessie Rowat, Emily Hutcheson, Herbert MacNair, Stephen Adam Jr, W.G Morton and Dorothy Carleton Smyth.

This item consists of portraits and life drawings, interior illustration, lettering design for A Midsummer Night's Dream, religious illustrations, book cover designs for The Language of Flowers, sketches of ceramics, and a list of reference books about art and design. These artworks are primarily in pencil, with some using ink and paint. Four pages from this sketchbook are loose from the spine.

A sketchbook of notes and artworks by Mary Ramsay. This item does not include an official date, but is presumed to be from 1918, when Ramsay was still at The Glasgow School of Art, due to dates included in some illustrations. This sketchbook includes floral illustrations, religious illustrations, greeting card designs, portraits and life drawings, and some notes.
There is one loose drawing included in this sketchbook. Most artworks are in pencil, with a few additional pieces in ink or paint on paper.
