Pewter mug

Pewter mug with handle. Red marking on bottom, "SCH.298". Small indented markings on side "QUART", "A8", "Wood & Sons, Glasgow", and Queen Victoria royal cypher. Due to information in an inventory, mug can be dated pre-1958.

Engraved pewter goblet (one of a set of two) made by Crown and Rose of London, cast pewter by Royal Selangor.  Inscription reads: Presented by Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd to Prof Seona Reid CBE, Director of GSoA on the occasion of the 'topping out.'  GSoA phase 1, 7 May, 2013. In wooden presentation box (hinge broken).

Cylindrical design with raised mealy bug pattern band on the upper section.  Makers mark HFC, Edinburgh assay stamp, date stamp 1978.

Art nouveau design. Female portrait (reverse). Inscribed Obverse: "Exposition Universelle Internationale 1900 Glasgow School of Art" Reverse: "Republique Francaise". In class four of this section the GSA was awarded a gold medal for special teaching of Fine Art.

Mustard pot

Lidded mustard pot with spoon. Pot has cylindrical design with raised mealy bug pattern band on the upper section, and brown acrylic inner lining. Spoon has similar design engraved on handle.

'Movement' boards

The section title '5 Movement' appears in white on black mountboard. The second sheet of mountboard is cream with three windows cut into it. Within one is handwritten relating to movement, especially in relation to flight. The second window shows pencil drawings of a beetle from below, and the third, a winged insect (possibly a grasshopper).

Large silver table lamp in three parts. Torch style lamp base with slatted column design and decorative studding around base housing a fluorescent bulb. Circular link piece to attach the shade to the base and elaborate 'jelly fish' design shade with hammer work markings on the tentacles. Flex and plug attached. In working order. Carries GSA stamp and Edinburgh assay stamp for 1983.

'Material' boards

The section title '4 Material' appears in white on black mountboard. The second piece of mountboard is cream with three windows cut into it. Within one window is handwritten text relating to chitin and the exocuticle of insects. The second window shows sketches/paintings of a hoverfly or wasp from multiple angles, and the third shows multiple butterfly wings.

Reverse: "Awarded for distinction in diploma work".
