Notable correspondents include the young Alasdair Gray, Edward Bawden, John Betjeman, Nikolaus Pevsner, Anthony Blunt, Robert Stewart, Joan Eardley, Gilbert Spencer and many other figures of the 1950s and 1960s art world in both London and Scotland.
