This poster advertised an exhibition held in Milan in 1984 which showcased design work by students from The Glasgow School Of Art. The exhibition was held in collaboration with Cassina, a world renowned Italian manufacturing company that often reproduce famous design pieces including Mackintosh furniture. The exhibition included ceramics, embroidery, furniture design, industrial products, graphic design, illustration, silversmithing and jewellery. It took place under the patronage of the British Consulate General in Milan and was also supported by a number of other bodies including The British Council, Sir Hugh Fraser, IBM, Clydesdale Bank PLC, Radio Clyde, Wm Teacher and Sons Ltd, Scottish Development agency, MS Macfarlane Trust, COF Refrigerators, Nardini Ltd and the Governors Of The Glasgow School of Art. The poster was designed by Gordon Huntly and printed by Fraser Ross and Ken Wade in the Foulis building at The Glasgow School Of Art. The reverse side catalogues a list of the exhibited items along with with the names of the designers which are listed below. This poster advertised a lecture given by fashion and textiles designer Zandra Rhodes who is known for her dramatic designs and bold use of colour. The lecture was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre on Wednesday the 6th of May 1981.

This poster advertised a lecture given by Gerry Taylor, a designer who worked for Scottsass Associati and Memphis in Milan. This was a design consultancy run by Ettore Scottsass which specialised in large scale architectural projects reflecting the style of the Memphis artistic movement which was prevalant at that time. Scottsass employed a number of designers from different backgrounds of which Gerry Taylor was one. The lecture was held in the Mackintosh Lecture Theatre on Monday the 16th of May.

Tapestry rug of worsted yarn and jute in acid colours featuring a pheasant in a floral landscape. Labelled "8017, 36 x 16 ins Tapestry, ID 2/2/12, 17th Nov 1888".

Tapestry looped pile rug in bright acid colours depicting a standing lion and sleeping lioness among rocks and plants against a vivid sunset. "A4 8046" on reverse as well as "lion & lioness".

British. Showing 'Midhurst - the town in the midst of the woods', with roads, buildings and figures. Very fine stitchery on natural cotton. Framed but unglazed.

Long linen sample with seven plastic triangles and fabric collage with stitching.

Gold coloured embroidered rectangular runner with pulled thread work in centre and delicate embroidery in cream thread. 8 small bows at each short edge and stem stitch along both sides.

Fine cream lace collar. Delicate lace collar with 2cm looped edging at top edge. Possibly Alecon lace.

Cotton on canvas knot stitched sampler.

Striped cotton jumpsuit in cream, light and dark green, light and dark lilac, and khaki.  The design of the garment suggests that the material was dyed to suit. Strapless fitted bodice with darts opening to wide legged trousers which gather at the ankles in a decorative thread weave cuff. Lace tie fastening on the front of the bodice with braided cord made from coloured threads that match the material. The garment demonstrates a variety of pattern cutting and construction skills and was probably made for a Glasgow School of Art fashion show.

British. Blue silk, hand stitched quilting.

Danish. Traditional work on natural linen incorporating drawn thread work and embroidery in satin-stitch. Relies for its effect on the changes of texture of the embroidery . Design based on stylised flower and plant forms.
