Needlework Development Scheme collections.

• 1&2. Both contain 2 pieces of grey linen on cream card showing variations of hemstitch, straight stitch, herringbone stitch, drawn thread and 4 side stitch.
• 3. Piece of grey paper divided into 4 sections with floral templates. Pale blue linen sampler with embroidered flowers in blue and white thread. Part of Needlework Development Scheme from 1930s.
• 4. Folded piece of grey paper with 2 white paper templates on each side. 2 linen embroidered samples. 4 small square designs on back in blue biro. "NDS 1950's" written on back.
• 5. Piece of folded blue paper with 3 cut paper templates. Large embroidered maltese cross with paper template on inside.
• "NDS 1950's" written on back.

Sampler worked on loosely woven cream cotton and wool material. Abstract garden design with large loose straight stitches in variety of yarn types. Shades of green, brown, cream and orange.

Canvas padded and attached to wooden frame. Design of squares containing stylised flowers. Yellow, red, blue and grey with navy edging.

Bold style sampler in coarse yarn, on yellow fabric, backing of beige linen. Various patterns of stitched squares in yellow, orange, green, and white. 4 macrame hooks at top edge with wooden hanging pole.

Gold coloured embroidered rectangular runner with pulled thread work in centre and delicate embroidery in cream thread. 8 small bows at each short edge and stem stitch along both sides.

Rectangular bag tapestry woven with tree and sun design. Initials 'BDW' on inside flap. Stud fastener on inside corners of flap. Green lining and small inside pocket, mainly shades of purple, green and orange.
