History

Amelia M S Drummond (or 'Amelia McD S Drummond'), born 21/06/1902, attended The Glasgow School of Art for three periods of study between 1918 and 1930. Throughout her studies she resided in Victoria Drive, Scotstoun.

Drummond first attended evening classes at the school for the 1918-19 session. At this time she was noted as attending Skerry's College. Although she had planned to attend the following session her name was crossed from the register, and the words "cannot come" entered. However in 1921 she returned to the school and remained as a day student, studying Drawing and Painting until the end of the 1926-27 session. At this point Drummond was granted her Diploma in Drawing and Painting. In 1929-30 Drummond undertook a final session at The Glasgow School of Art as a day student in Drawing and Painting. This earned her an 'Endorsement of Diploma' – a qualification for successful post diploma study of a sufficiently high standard.
