Margaret Mary Devlin, born 19/10/1899 (or 1889), attended The Glasgow School of Art from 1918-1923. During this period she was resident in Neilston. Between 1918 and 1921 Devlin was a day student in Drawing and Painting, and Design. From 1921-23 she took evening classes, with her occupation being noted as 'Fashion Artist' during the 1922-23 session.

The year of birth given for Devlin alternates between 1889 and 1899 in the different register entries held by The Glasgow School of Art archives. It is not known which is correct.
