Jessie Fairley Davidson, born 11/1/1897, attended Drawing and Painting evening classes at The Glasgow School of Art during the 1916-17, 1917-18 and 1919-20 sessions. During this period she lived in Highburgh Drive, Burnside. Her occupation is noted as 'Salesgirl'. In the 1916-17 session Davidson successfully competed against forty-nine students to receive a Haldane Bursary of one pound and one shilling. The occupation of Davidson in 1920-21 is noted as being 'P Office Clerk'.
Please note that throughout the earlier Glasgow School of Art records, Jessie appears to be registered under the name "Nessie". However evidence suggests that Nessie and Jessie are the same individual.
According to census information, in 1901 a 'Jessie F Davidson', daughter to William and Eliza A. Davidson, was aged 4 and residing in Allison Street, Govan.
