Frank Logan Paul was born on the 3rd June 1889 to Agnes Paul (née Gibbon) and David Logan Paul, a clockmaker's apprentice. He attended evening classes in design at The Glasgow School of Art in 1912/13. During the First World War he served with the Army Ordnance Corps, which had responsibility for supplying and repairing equipment such as weaponry and vehicles, as well as distributing ammunition and taking care of other minor logistics such as clothing supply. After the war he emigrated to USA, where he settled in Maryland and worked as a watchmaker and silversmith. He died in Delaware in 1979. He is listed on The Glasgow School of Art's World War One Roll of Honour.
