History

James Deakin first joined the Glasgow School of Art in 1917-18 but the records show that he was redirected to the Hillhead High School. It is presumed that this was to join the Continuation classes run there in affiliation with The Glasgow School of Art.

He attended again in 1920-21 when his occupation was recorded as Motor Engineer, to do evening classes in Drawing and Painting.

His address was 122 Great Western Road in Glasgow and he was born on 15 December 1900.
