History

Jessie Elizabeth Robertson was born in 1899 and attended The Glasgow School of Art between 1916 and 1918. Her address for this time is recorded as 34 Blythswood Drive, which is located in Paisley and may have been her family home, given her young age at the time of attendance. Robertson's tuition was subsidised by the City Local Authority.

In her first academic year at The School, Robertson was a day student of Drawing and Painting. She studied Anatomy under the tutelage of Professor James M. Dunlop, which was taught in Room 25. In her second year, Robertson studied Lettering and China Plate- the latter a technique which involved the decoration of glazed porcelain and was popular as a 'woman's craft' during the 19th and early 20th century.

Whether Jessie Elizabeth Robertson continued to pursue her creative ambitions is unknown.
