Sir George Pirie PRSA HRSW LLD, 1864-1946, was born in Campbelltown, Argyll, the son of a Glasgow doctor. Pirie attended the Glasgow School of Art from 1881 to 1885, and returned as an examiner and judge from 1899 to 1928. Pirie is considered a member of the Glasgow School.
