Charcoal drawing on paper of a female figure sitting side-on to a table, and looking out at the viewer, with a glass on the table in front of her.  Light from window behind throws part of her face into deep shadow. High viewpoint makes the foreground seem steeply raked towards the viewer.

Biographical history

Stasia is a teacher using mixed media including silver, glass and needlework: storytelling through art. Geography is the dominant theme and her strong social commitment inspires most of the imagery. She has been awarded several prizes including the Paul Hamlyn Award and the Winston Churchill Travelling Award, 2008.
