History

James MacLachlan is commemorated on The Glasgow School of Art's World War One Roll of Honour. However, two names were found in the School's registers from this time. One was born in Ayrshire in 1886, one of three children of Agnes and Robert McLachlan, a monumental sculptor. He attended The Glasgow School of Art from 1905 to 1907 as a part-time student in sculpture. The other was born in Glasgow on the 23rd of July 1898, and attended The School of Art from 1914 to 1916 as a part-time student in drawing and painting.
