D M McKay is listed on The Glasgow School of Art's World War One Roll of Honour as a member of the Royal Army Medical Corps' Field Ambulance unit. A Daniel McKay attended evening classes in architecture at the School from 1912 to 1917 and again in 1919 to 1922. He went on to practice as an architect in Glasgow and London, specialising in cinema architecture, as well as working on factories and military camps. He died in Somerset in the 1980s.
