History
James Campbell Kerr was born on the 9th of September 1886. He attended The Glasgow School of Art for one year in 1914/15 as a part-time student of Design while working as a Junior Clerk. During the First World War, James served in the 9th battalion in the Highland Light Infantry as a 2nd Lieutenant. He was killed in action on the 30th of May, 1919 in Basra, Iraq. He is memorialized in the Basra War Cemetery. James Campbell Kerr is commemorated in The Glasgow School of Art's First World War Roll of Honour.
