Three stapled sheets of typewritten paper include William Meldrum's brief biography and descriptions of two specific works. It also includes the custodial histories of the paintings: they were presented to the Glasgow Corporation in April 1966, after Meldrum's death. The final sheet illustrates a simple drawing of Glasgow street map, indicating where Meldrum may have depicted the view of Glasgow in the 1900s.

The description specifically details two undated watercolour landscape paintings titled "Cumbernauld Road at Riddrie, Glasgow." These paintings depict the same location, each viewed in the summer and winter.

Notes written in blue coloured pencil by Alfredo Avella on the reverse of a torn-off section of a stock list from Queensborough Motors, Glasgow. At the top of the page is a gridded rectangle, annotated "Bright Blue grid, Paint ground - make grid with Letraset + Paint over with Deep Dark Blue". Two wavy lines separate this section of the page from a lower section containing notes that read 'three-way painting three colours. - change also [dwinni?] lime" and "colours ? lime colour". At the bottom of the page are three rectangles divided into numbered sections vertically, with the numbers 1-3 arranged differently in each. The stock list from Queensborough Motors is dated March 1974 and features both a modern Glasgow postcode, G12, and the number of a Glasgow postal district, W2, which predates the introduction of the national postcode system.

Handwritten notes in pencil and ink on the reverse of the typed minutes of a meeting of the General Purposes Committee, Glasgow School of Art, dated 15 Nov 1978. The bottom of the page has been torn off from below the second line of the list of Attending. The notes in Avella's handwriting are related to materials and include an order number. A note in different handwriting reads "Alf, Phone Mr McFarlane" and lists a phone number.

A Curriculum Vitae handwritten by Colin Wilson in pen, featuring his personal details, educational history, awards received, employment history, freelance work, general design work, exhibition design, exhibitions and personal interests.

Envelope containing directories of Community Artists and Contact People, information about training for medical illustration and a large stapled document titled "Some Helpful Information for Art Students Concerning Jobs, Grants, Publications Etc." dated October 1979. Envelope was originally addressed "Professor A Jones, Director" but this has been crossed out and replaced with "Mr Avella". Annotation on the envelope reads "GSA, Bursary, Jobs".

1904 diary belonging to Archibald Haswell Miller. The diary was made by North British Mercantile Insurance Company, whose name is embossed in gold on the front, alongside the year, 1904. The diary has entries pertaining to Miller's appointments, a list of addresses and some sketches on the back pages. Inside the diary there are two newspaper clippings. One related to the suicide Erich Rom in Partick, a student from Berlin (inside pages 40-41), and another related to a match between Glasgow High School and Glasgow Academy (inside pages 54-55)

This folder contains two travel reports produced by Douglas Percy Bliss when he visited Italy as well as Denmark and Sweden in 1957. It also contains several travel itineraries specific to different countries. These were presumably created as a starting point for bursary winning students going to particular countries. The are very detailed, advising students about particular areas of interest for their studies as well as offering advice about where to stay, how to use public transport and where to go for help. Within this folder are itineraries for London, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Italy and Belgium. In addition, the folder contains general information about staying in the Halls of Residence at the National College of Rubber Technology in London.

Third Year Part Time material, featuring two essays.

Material related to the writing of a history essay studying the art and craft movement in the UK influenced by three architects, Augustus Pugin, John Ruskin, and William Morris. It consists of a hard back cover page with 20 pages (on white plastic strip binding) done in the form of hand writing. The aim is to study the architectural movement in Britain after the Industrial Revolution with its social and economic aspects and how the architects criticised the missing aspect of art and craft that marked by the "battle of styles" between the Classic and Gothic styles.

Essay submitted as part of sociology course with 11 typewritten pages (no binding). This paper is a comparison of tenements and terraces in the West End of Glasgow. The aim is to study if there are any similarities rather than differences in their architectural design. It includes some photos and free hand sketches.
This study concluded that the terraces often had the similar façade design (neo-classical style) and the only difference occurred with the use of trees and landscape factor.

An essay on art titled 'A Statement on Drawing', and a second essay divided into the following sections: 'The Painter - Sculptor', 'Illusory Space', 'Predicaments', 'Wax and Bone Reliefs'. The first essay is on the first page and the second essay consists of three pages of text. The essays are written on a typewriter and stapled together.

A written sheet including a brief of the basic design requirements including function, occupation, construction, and location. The most important design criterion is: "the building must blend in with the surrounding landscape as camouflage".

A letter and its envelope from the Royal Institute of British Architects in London to Elizabeth Marion Harvey. The letter is regarding her acceptance to sit the Intermediate Examination between the 7th to 13th of November 1952. It outlines the details of the various examinations. The envelope originally had Harvey's address in Croftfoot, Glasgow, but this has been scored out and next to it an address in Jersey, the Channel Isles has been written for the letter to be forwarded to.
